  1. Hi All, I have a 2011 AWD Ford Edge Limited and been wanting to strip all the chrome... my Edge is that metallic black but looking at getting regular high gloss black. How were those little long decorative dimples on front grill to apply the vinyl to? Does heat from a hair dryer allow it to be applied ok? How long does it last? Any issues with road rocks being kicked up? My Wife is very artsy craftsy and offered to help cuz I just dont have the patience lol... Any other tips?? Im looking at brands and at least want to get on amazon... not trying to pay $200 from this one name brand I saw but dont wanna get crap either. The biggest issue will be measuring it all out and making sure I get stuff that is good quality AND long enough for the long sections lol. I think at least 1' x 15' might suffice for all of it. Thanks!

  3. Hi all! 2011 Ford Edge Limited w/panaramic sunroof. Need roof rack for extra capacity if/when needed... I do NOT have the side roof rails that go front to back. Do they make roof rack cross bars that just bolt directly into the roof so i dont have to spent $$$ on the rails that run front to back? THANKS! Jon
  4. Greetings. Back up camera doesnt work after shifting into reverse. Camera unavailable message appears. Got back from body shop after major accident, camera hasnt worked since (long fight with them but no they wont fix it)... they scanned and gave me a code that was related to a fault in the back up camera system but it was kinda generic (document lost in last 6 months). Need pointed in direction of diagnostics for this... Back up sensor beeps are still working. Paid for 1 year Chiltons manual access but the wire colors in there dont match what Chiltons says for the camera... I pulled it all apart and was trying my best to do my own testing with a power probe and multi meter but just no headway.. Thanks!
  5. Hi, yes.. unfortunately lol.. Any sort of funky advice I need to know before swapping it out? I only ask because of this design is so new to me. Thanks!
  6. Hi all and thanks in advance! 2011 Ford Edge Limited... I noticed a few weeks ago a grinding.. checked, and rotors were scredded up. Upon inspection and disassembly, looked like the caliper slide boot ripped, and it just froze up. Bought a new one, lubed correctly, replaced both sides rear rotors and pads, back on the road and thought all good! Now, Im hearing another slight grinding or dragging out of the same side.. Im thinking*** the rear caliper is toast as when I had it apart I watched and saw proper operation of the E Brake cable.. The problem is I have never worked on a car with this type of caliper before. (its the first rear disc ebrake set up like this ive even seen). Inspection of brake fluid hoses look ok, Ive tested and lines look fine, e brake cable looks to be in working order (it moves as much as the other side)... Any other ideas or things I should inspect or check before swapping to a new caliper? THANKS!
  7. Hi. So I have a 2011 Ford Edge Limited with the 3.5 Best options for chips? I primarily wanna increase MPG . What does the chip do exactly? Reprogram the shift points I think? Are some really as plug n play as they indicate? Does cost = savings? I know it ll be over time (i.e. if a chip can increase 4mpg, id save over a timeframe... but if a chip is gonna cost me $100, $250. $500.... gotta keep that in mind) I, Love, My, Edge! Everyone else does too haha... I commute 50-90 min one way to work in the D.C. area, goin thru a divorce and custody shit too... Thnx in advance! I hope this will help me a good bit with my $ if i can save more on gas haha..
  8. Thanks! Im on the mend, slowly, and hope to be back to my fantastic ::cough cough:: federal employee job asap.. ;0) With that said, thank you everyone! I followed the advice here and did all sorts of stuff for the fuel to check it out as well as retore apart everything I had done. I found a pinched wire of all things caused this!? I think the wire pinch pulled the CAM senson taught, and slightly pulled the pin back which caused an incomplete connection to the sensor. Embarassed, you bet. BUT lesson learned and so happy its back to the way its supposed to be. thanks all!!
  9. My apologies to all! I had a health issue and havent been back to work since mid October.. I didnt mean to leave this thread orphaned. Im good enough now and going to get on in to the engine today and retrace my steps. .. lucky me - its been 14 degrees all morning here in MD ;0). But.. codes are still there, serious (and i mean serious) lack of power, as well as Im sucking down only about 17mpg avg IF i do highway and city..... Other than these, theres no other issue heard/seen/felt. Thanks all! Ill post back along the way. Im hoping I had a novice issue thats user error.. Cheers.
  10. Hi All! 2011 Ford Edge Limited, 3.5L AWD, 60k miles Original issue: Cylinder 3 and 4 misfire. Threw codes for misfire + o2 sensor issue (just once) Remedy: Swapped plugs out... New issue: While it idles + cruises at low speed like butttttttttter, I now have HORRID MPG in city. Its averaging about 14 MPG when I used to get 18 or so! Have been off work a while due to health issues so not done my normal 50miles one way to work highway driving. Also, more disconcerning, is that its seriously lacking power. Whenever i try to accelerate or anything that would need some major power the engine RPMS go up to about 6000+ and the car goes literally no where. Im throwing codes P0340 and P0344 (camshaft position sensor codes). Other info: cylinders 3 and 4 plugs were pulled and had gaps of about .68+ while the others had maybe .58... They were corroded and fouled but not horrid. The gaps were just really bad in those two. Meh, whatever. I drive alot. Went to dealer, just got OEM plugs and the parts manager said "check the gap but they are now usually gapped from factory so u dont need to widen them anymore.". Outta the box i checked and all were @ .54.... so i installed them all. If the gap of .54 is too small, wouldnt that mean im potentially not igniting enough fuel to combust? If gap is too small, couldnt that cause the codes to be thrown? Where is the position sensor? I dont think i was anywhere near it. Thank you SO very much for any help... Im going thru a divorce, foreclosure, and am now a single income dad - trying my best.... i have some health issues and just trying to curb any trip to a garage or dealer if i can. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!
