  1. I dropped off my 07 AWD Edge on Tuesday for the same problem. I have 41,000 Miles on the it. It developed the "whistle" at highway speed and then eventually even around town. They said the ware on the rotors was ok but it had developed some "hot spots" so they recommended replacing the whole lot. Was quoted $517usd
  2. Sorry the ebay link was just to show that its for sale on ebay. I bought my bull bar black.
  3. I have this one installed on my 07 Edge Bought it off Ebay very easy install took all of 20 mins
  4. I just posted a topic in the Maintenance/TSB area about my 2007 Edge needing a new throttle body because the Throttle Position Sensor is screwed up. I have different symptoms but your might be the same problem. Mine would have very erratic RPM jumps while driving down the highway say at 70 mph it would go from 2,000 RPM and then drop down real quick to 1,000 RPM and then back up I am bringing mine in on Thursday to have it fixed.
  5. So I had my Edge in last week to replace some leaky seals on the transmission that all went fine but I got in my car yesterday morning and my check engine light and my little service wrench light was on. So I stopped at the dealer and they plugged it into the computer and said that it might have been something that they did when they were fixing the Transmission. They cleared the codes and said if it happens again come back. I get in my car this morning and what do you know the lights are on again. so I drive into the dealer AGAIN and this time they said the the code is something to do with the throttle position sensor. They have to order an entire throttle body because its all integrated into that. I have to go BACK to my dealer on Thursday. So the Service rep said its ok to drive but if it happens again "Just turn the car off then start back up" and "It might get worse like it could fail all together and then you would have no acceleration" These guys are crazy I'm not going to be driving this car around until they fix it. This is starting to get frustrating because the car only has 30,000 miles on it. Whats going to happen in another 30,000 Miles when there is not warranty? Not a very happy Ford costumer right now. These are my problems to date with my 2007 Ford Edge AWD SE 3,000 - Miles PTU leaking / over filled from Factory 6,000 - 20,000 Miles Right front tire loosing pressure never found problem just stopped one day. 6,000 Miles - Gear shifter sticking and making an awful noise when moved from park into Drive - Fixed with lots of lubrication 30,000 Miles - Transmission Leak - fixed with new seals 30,000 Miles - Throttle body - Throttle position sensor - not fixed yet
  6. Tranny I had the PTU seal done on my first oil change.
  7. Like the dealer thought it was just a leaky seal. Took 2 days, one for them to tear it apart and then another to put it back together.
  8. So I brought my Edge in for my 30,000 mile service and they found a leak in my transmission. They think its just a seal so they are ordering the parts and then they will take it apart to see if that is the cause of the leak. I will update the thread when I know more details.
  9. I don't personally have the in-channel vents because the ford ones were installed free by the dealer when I purchased my Edge but the ones from Weather Tech seem nice and I think a few people here on the site have them installed.
  10. Thats why I would not trade or sell my edge unless the amount was the same as I owe on the lean. I have had it posted on Craigslist as well and have had a few people interested so that is a good sign.
  11. yeah I Was never intending on buying and or using this devise.
  12. Thanks bbf25030 your posts are very helpful and well written and I understand what you are saying. I am trying to accomplish 2 things by selling/trading my edge 1-better gas millage 2- lower my loan payment I was in a different financial position a year ago when I purchased the edge and my priorities have changed. Also Gas is not going to get cheaper can anyone say that in the x amount of years they have been driving that gas is cheaper now then it was when they started driving and or even 2 years ago. So with those two factors 1 better gas millage and 2 lower loan payment and on top of that lower insurance as well, the loss on what I have put into the edge will be minimum. Thanks for the help and discussion. On a side note this morning the local new had a piece on the Hydro 4000 haha claims to increase gas millage by 50% or more. I have done some reading up on this and have not found a reliable source yet but first instinct is SCAM what do ya'll think I'm surprised it made it on to the local news.
  13. Nope just means you're a worse prick then the dealer is, and thanks for a very helpful reply The two values I gave in the first post were what kbb and Edmunds had for trade in values not suggested retail, suggested retail values are higher they are in the $22,000+ range. I have been looking at a lot of Subaru's I would love to keep the AWD and Subaru has a lot of options and gas millage is pretty good as well. Obviously if I drop the AWD I could find a vehicle with much better gas millage you know the typical Honda, Toyota, Nissan. I was also considering a diesel vehicle as well such as a VW or something but with the price of diesel rising as fast as gas it may not be the best idea either.
  14. Exactly I knew that going into it, I have traded in cars before and have always had to haggle with the dealer to get them to a price I was "willing" to accept but for an almost $30,000 car to only get a $16,000 starting point from a dealer after 14 months of owning it made me laugh. I am well aware that vehicles lose value but to lose almost 50% in 14 months is crazy
  15. HaHa well I got a quote from a dealer for a trade on my Edge they offered me 16,000 LOL
  16. Well I might be trading in the Edge today  Hate to see it go but I really don't need it and with gas prices on the rise and not looking like they are going to stop anytime soon I need a car with better gas millage. I'm also going to lower my monthly payment. I have looked up the value of the Edge for Trade on KBB and Edmunds and KBB is listing it at 17,500 and Edmunds is at 19,200 Thats a big difference. I have a 2007 SE AWD with Roof Rails, Trailer package and 6 disc CD, no BAMR, 25,xxx miles Excellent condition What do you all think would be a good trade in value? Thanks in Advance
  17. Yeah you can get the Add a circuit from here http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cf...tnumber=071-585 make sure its the mini one the edge has mini circuits. popping off the console if you search a little on here I think there is a write up somewhere. sorry don't have the time to do a write up
  18. Purchased 3/4/2007 30,000 and going strong only minor issues that were all taken care of with relative ease.
  19. Nice idea but for me its not clean enugh I installed one of these to a circut that turns on and off with the ignition and then one of these and pluged in my sat radio now when every I turn on or off my car my sat radio/ipod tuns on/off You don't have to worry about overloading a circuit becuase it splits it and adds another fuse also its all tucked up under the dash. This is also how I have my Radar installed so it turns on and off as well they are easily taken out if needed and parts are only like 10 bucks. But yours is much easier and does the same job.
  20. Please do not insult me I am asking a simple questions and you are not providing any help with your dumb-ass reply NO ONE IS LETTING AIR OUT OF MY TIRES another helpless answer please move on Seriously guys I'm not some moron that has only owned one car in my life. I take great care of my vehicles and I don't go months on end with out checking tire pressure. In this instance my tire pressure has been checked every 2 -3 weeks that is when the light comes on so yes it is loosing air at a rate the is faster then it should be. I don't think to many drivers check there tire pressure every week. I did when I owned my motorcycle but on todays cars it is not unreasonable to go 3 weeks without checking your tires air pressure. And weather I check them myself or go to the tires shop that I pass everyday they get checked so what the big deal who does it. I am not asking for help on how to check the air pressure or my engine oil level either like I said above this is not my first car but thanks for all the help so far some of you have give me so good advice, others well thanks for the laughs.
  21. What good would checking them myself do if I don't have nitrogen to fill them back up I'd still have to go to the tire shop.
  22. So yesterday I was going to take my car to the dealer but decided to stop at the tire shop where I had my tires filled with nitrogen and asked them to check the pressure in the tires. They said that all 4 tires were at different pressures so they purged them again and refilled the tires to 35psi. The guy there is a real nice guy and is trying to help me out unlike the Ford dealership is so he said to come back in one week and he will check the pressure again. If we find anything then I can go to Ford and tell them what is up.
  23. I think the question should be why not AWD? Sure you can get by without it but if it is avaiable why not get it. Its kinda like comparing dial up internet and highspeed internet, you dont need the highspeed internet, but its just better. Yeah it costs more but you get more. This winter alone has paid for the option of AWD here in the Norteast. I use to drive compact FWD cars and when it snowed sure I could go somewhere and usually got to where I was going but it wasn't always easy or the smartest thing to take a civic out in 10"inches of snow. But with the Edge I never have a doubt and get where I need to be. I guess you can compare it to Standard def TV and HD TV, I don't need HD but things are just better in HD. I dont need AWD but things are just better in AWD .
  24. since I have gotten Nitrogen I go back to the tire shop to have them refill when I get low. The tires started loosing air about 9,000 miles ago about 3 oil changes. I am hard pressed that I ran over something and it caused leaks in all 4 tires but hey anything could happen. I am going back to the dealer and have them do one tire like you suggested and see what they find thanks
  25. thanks bbf2530 for your response I'll try to expalin this as simple as possible all 4 tires and rims are what were on the edge when I bought it. My TPS light was constantly coming on in the car and I was constantly filling the air at the gas station. I decided to get Nitorgen in the tires because they say it retains pressure and does not loose air as much as just the regular compressed air. The tires were completley purged of any air and then filled with nitro. No one is letting air out of my tires. my problem comes when the dealer says "We can take the wheels off and the tires off and then put them back on but that will cost you $xx.xx and that might fix the problem" what I am asking is that shouldn't something like this be covered or am I just being stupid.
