  1. I decided to check out my millage against one of my buddies cars as well just for kicks. :shades: Car 1 : MY 2007 Ford Edge Starting Millage 9125.8 Miles Car 2 : His 2006 Mazda RX-8 Starting Millage 5,425.6 Miles Started at Point A and Traveled to Point B Car 1 Total distance Traveled 12.5 miles Car 2 Total distance Traveled 12.9 miles Looks like I got better millage oh wait I forgot to tell you that he decided to spin his tires at every stop sign and blew donuts in the parking lot haha guess my scientific test was a little off. But seriously I think she went a little over board with the CAPS LOCK KEY :stats: I would consider it a MAJOR FLAW if your driving down the highway and say you wheels fall off now that would be major flaw haha ok end sarcastic rant I'm just a little bored today
  2. I got the optional towing package on my Edge which brings the weight up to 3500 lbs you have to remember the Edge is a Car not a Truck based vehicle so we are not going to be able to tow 10,000 lbs with the Edge. Call up the Ford dealer and ask them if you have a towing hitch installed what the max towing weight will be I'm guessing it will be 3,500 lbs
  3. yeah a big one the service department was very easy to talk to and even gave me a look at it on the lift when I picked it up.
  4. Welcome and enjoy where in MA are you I'm in Western MA near Greenfield
  5. I have 6,000+ miles on my edge and haven't noticed in the numerous times filling it any problems or anything with the gas filler.
  6. Got my edge back yesterday for the dealer and they said that the Transfer case was just over filled in the factory and the "overflow tube" is on the top and was making it look like it was leaking when it was just over filled. They said at the next service they will check again but I shouldn't have any adverse problems from it being over filled
  7. I agree with jamers you can obviously add a hitch but hes right no bigger bat, radiator and what ever else comes from factory. I personally don't think all that stuff will make much difference because the towing limit is still quite low for the edge. but if you had it as an option then make sure you get what you paid for.
  8. Your "off Road" looks like the road I drive everyday to get to and from work. I only had my edge for about a week when we got pounded with 24 inches of snow took it to the closest empty parking lot and had some fun in the snow you can get the tires to spin in that stuff. Thousand Islands is a real nice place I'm jealous
  9. Yeah this is the first issue I've had but it sounds like it could be a major one. The explanation I got was "they've had issues with this problem on other vehicles" and "I have most the parts to fix the problem but not all so it could take a few days once we open it up" anyway I get an SEL+ with all the options as my loaner so as long as they fix the problem they can keep it for a few days. I'll update when I have more info.
  10. Looks like 3dCarbon has there kit out 3dCarbon body kit looks nice :happy feet:
  11. Brought my edge in for its 2nd oil change and I get a call from the service dept. telling me I have a leak coming from my transfer case!!! WTF!! I have to bring it back on Monday. I've loved my edge from day one but now with problems like this with only 6,000 miles its not loving me back, with all my other cars (all Hondas) and 300,000+ miles and never anything but regular service this doesn't make me happy
  12. This might be what you are looking for Alpine VehicleHub Pro
  13. Looks awesome man keep up the great mods
  14. He bought it because the Edge is what he wanted! pointless and helpless comment! I Don't have the BAMR so I cant help you out sorry. But when I was calling around for a rack for my Edge Thule said if I gave up my edge for a few days they would use it for product development and design a rack that fits the Edge and I would keep the rack(s) for free. If you call Thule and ask about that they might be able to help you out.
  15. My SE cools right down it was over 90 here in MA on sat. After a long round of golf I turned the car on and by the time I got my clubs in and ready to drive off the car was nice and chilly had to turn it down to 1 by the time I hit the highway
  16. Here are some crappy camera phone pics of my key I have an SE Front Back
  17. Just drive normal you can "get on it" as soon as you like its just not a good idea to set the cruise at 80 for 5 hours. The cars is "learning" how you drive and is adjusting the cars computer so if you drive one way for a 1000 miles then change the way you drive after "Break in" all that "learning" is crap
  18. I haven't noticed a crunch but I did have a squeak so when I brought it in for the first service I mentioned it and haven't noticed anything since
  19. with that unit do you keep the factory steering wheel controls?
  20. If you're doing it for fuel savings then no its not worth it, if you are doing it because the Edge kicks ass and looks cool doing it then yeah get an Egde
  21. I live in north west Massachusetts plenty of hills here the road I live on is "South Mountain Road" so I'm up and down hills all day and still see 19 - 20 MPG with AWD :happy feet:
  22. SE AWD 19-20 MPG Average. 50-50 city highway depends on how aggressive you drive I can get as little at 14mpg when I get on it.
  23. Thanks I figured I could do the line output converter if it didn't have the preout.
  24. Does anyone know if the 6-disc mp3 stereo has any preouts on the back for a subwoofer? I know you can have an 8” sub installed from the factory as an option. Anyone have a picture of the back of the stereo? I will be upgrading the stereo with an Alpine IVA-W200 but I have subs and an Amp that I am going to build a box for and I'm just wondering if I can hook it up to the factory stereo and I didn't feel like trying to take out the factory headunit to look for my self haha just being lazy.
