  1. Thanks I am going to see when I install the lights if its possible to make a quick disconnect for them so I can remove when ever I feel like it. The brush guard as I said is held on by only 2 bolts so thats and easy remove if I ever wish to.
  2. I would agree with both blu by u and DJ Starr if you want a true off roading/rock crawling/ mudding vehicle get something different but if you want to take it out to the sand dunes or on some light trails I think it will handle itself very well.
  3. Just personal taste no other reason I just like the way it looks.
  4. Well I finally installed my brush guard on Tuesday took about 45 mins 4 bolts I had to drill one hole in the bracket because it didn't fit. These are just some crappy camera phone pics will try to take better ones later I photoshoped them a little but they still suck comments welcomed. I'm going to try installing the driving light later today as well and will post pics of that too.
  5. I drove through a storm last winter on my way to Killington Ski resort in VT no problems drove like a charm we got about 2 feet in that storm skiing was great the next day
  6. Head down to your local body shop and ask them how much to paint the mirrors and door handles I had a set of mirrors painted once on a car and only cost about 50$

  8. Yeah I figured you were but sometimes sarcasm is hard to see on the forums we've had a few people get all heated about it before. And I would have to say that any aftermarket system when put together with the right components will blow away a factory THX system no mater what car is in. Just my opinion thats why I have never really found the value in spending the money for the factory units when I can get aftermarket units that look better cost less and sound better.
  9. I think he was just saying Thanks not THX as in the sound system?
  10. Sucks about the leak but so far all the little problems I have had with mine have been fixed. Should be expected with a first generation car so long as its fixed properly and promptly.
  11. Ordered these instead Features: * The Hella DynaView Intelligent Driving Light Kit adds the smartest auxiliary light system available to any vehicle * Intelligent yaw-rate sensors read vehicle turns and direct extra light into the turn, making for safer night driving * High-tech 7” lamps employ two bulbs: one standard hi-beam aimed ahead, one angled for turn illumination * DynaView angled light gently dims once the vehicle straightens out * Specially-cut free-form reflectors cast clear, brighter light than standard lamps * Hella specifically designed the DynaView Driving Lights for heavy-duty continuous use under difficult conditions—ideal for trucks, off-roaders and RVs * Lamps measure 7 3/4” high x 7" wide x 4 1/8" deep * Complete kit includes 2 lamps, control unit with yaw-rate sensors and a professional cable set, plus all mounting hardware * Your Hella DynaView Intelligent Driving Light Kit carries a 1-year warranty Description: Conventional high beam light always shines in only one direction: straight ahead. When steering around corners, you head into the dark—accompanied by the danger of unpredictable obstacles lurking up around the bend. Fix this problem the smart way, with DynaView Intelligent Driving Lights. Hella DynaView Intelligent Driving Lights considerably reduce the dangers of driving around corners at night by sensing turns and directing light accordingly, allowing you to see ahead of the corner and react to hazards in plenty of time. And, the smart system floods the road ahead using high-tech 7” round lamps. Make “driving blind” into dark corners a thing of the past! The Hella DynaView Intelligent Driving Light Kit includes 2 lamps, a control unit with sensors, a professional wiring system and all mounting hardware. Plus, your DynaView kit is covered by a 1-year warranty. http://www.autoanything.com/lights/69A1327A0A0.aspx
  12. I would agree with 007 and say that is not a good thing. I have no clue what would cause that. sorry.
  13. Wow only 15k a year I wish I could get by only driving 15k haha I bought my Edge back in March thats 6 months ago and I got 18k already haha. I drive a bunch for work and get reimbursed for the miles at $0.47/Mile + $ for gas. Yes its true you will save money if you do it yourself I don't think anyone would deny that but for me while my vehicle is under warranty I almost always bring it in for service and tell them to look at every little squeak and noise I notice while driving . For me its just peace of mind knowing a "certified" mechanic is working on my vehicle, yes some "Stealerships" will work you over on price but most of them are fare.
  14. My Brush Guard came in yesterday!!! Going to install it on Sunday also going to add some Hella Driving lights too Opinions welcomed Pictures will be added on Monday
  15. yeah 3,500$ is so not worth it. It doesn't change the look that much. Non edge owners wouldn't even know you have a kit on it. I'll save my 3500 for a supercharger haha or turbo!!
  16. Ford has a body kit for sale on there accessories website http://www.fordaccessoriesstore.com/fas/b2c/catalog.asp 3,500$ for a painted kit is this the same one as the 3d-Carbon kit? No good pics of it either.
  17. why would you want to turn DRL off??? seems point less to turn something automatic off and DRL's are a good thing to have anyway
  18. Well if you already have the 1-1/4" hitch then I would suggest this http://www.etrailer.com/pc-HA~80303.htm otherwise you would have to have a custom receiver installed to accept a 2" hitch
  19. The Edge can haul 3,500 lbs and the 1-1/4" hitch handles up to 3,500 lbs so there is no reason to go any bigger.
  20. Yup thats the one I got its a Reese bought it at Auto Zone for like 30$ or something like that
  21. Not sure on the exact drop but I have a 2" ball and the top of the ball is even with the hitch opening.
  22. Went camping at Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme Connecticut last week took the Edge and Rockwood pop-up camper. The Edge pulled like a dream 70mph on the highways and didn't even know I was pulling anything. Around town and side roads I turned off the O/D and that helped with the quick starts and stops. And before anyone asks the Brakes felt great normal fade under hard braking but nothing that had me worried. The pop-up fully loaded weighed about 2,800 lbs Over all great experience towing the camper. :hyper: backing into the site Unpacked and set up
  23. No I brought my car in for an oil change and while they were changing the oil they said they noticed a leak so I left it for a day and they realized it was just over filled and yes I have had them check it with every oil change and have not noticed any fluid.
  24. The dealership told me that my transmission was leaking as well but when they pulled it all apart they found it was just over filled hope thats what yours ends up being.
  25. I have the carbon metallic edge and it shows dirt real bad I knew this when purchasing the edge but they did not have a silver, anyway if I want a real deep clean I will hand wash at home with a pressure washer and the 2 bucket method. But in the winter I usually just run it though the touch less wash one a week for 5 bucks to get the salt and dirt off. I also get my cars professionally detailed once or twice a year. I use to wax my own car but it was just a little civic but the edge is ALOT bigger and would take me forever.
