  1. I have a 2011 Lincoln MKX and the Camera has no grid lines and the image is reversed. I tried ForScan recalibration, Master Reset and Battery disconnect to no avail. Since the Part #'s are different for the Edge and MKX I Have found two Part #s for the MKX. After 02/15/2012 the Part # is EA1Z-19G490-A and is $88.34 Before 02/15/2012 the part # is BA1Z-19G490-B and is $329.88 I read somewhere that people on the Edges used 2nd generation cameras on the 1.5 generations with success. Wondering if the same could be true with these cameras I found. Anyone tried or know of someone that replaced one on a 2011 MKX? Thanks in advance.
  2. Very good conversation, I love it. I have been working on cars since 1986 as a "shade tree mechanic", mainly Hot Rods and maintaining our vehicles. Before the internet and knowledge of oils and filters we always used Motorcraft oil and Filters and Wix Filters on occasion. In my Hot Rods I always used RedLine oil and Wix filters. In the mid 2000's(2005) I was in the middle of swapping engines in our 2001 Ford F-350 Crew Cab 7.3 Powerstoke when a salesman pulled in and starting talking to us about Schaeffer Oil. Did my research and asked around on forums and with about 7 vehicles to maintain, I decided to use Schaeffer's. So I use Schaeffer's 9000 series oil with Royal Purple Filters. Look into the Royal Purple Filters, Really Really Good.
  3. https://www.adafruit.com/product/820 Why they don't sell the swithch is beyond me. It took me about 1.5 hours to replace shifter and cost $116 for a $3 part. Don't know if the above will fit, but just a quick search to prove it could be a quicker easier fix than need be. I know if it happens again I will not be buying a shifter assembly.
  4. From AutoGeek: The best way to treat your glass! I travel to car shows all over the country, and I can honestly say that 9 out of 10 people don't know how to properly clean glass. First and foremost, never attempt to clean glass that's hot to the touch. Second, spray a liberal amount of cleaner directly onto the glass and wipe away residue using a Microfiber Glass Towel. Last, but certainly not least, spray the section you just cleaned with a FINE MIST of glass cleaner and use a second, CLEAN, DRY Microfiber Glass Towel to perform the final wipe. Use plenty of towels - one or two won't cut it. For those of you with a longer attention span, let's dig a little deeper. Buckle up! ALWAYS use a quality automotive glass cleaner. The stuff you buy at the big box store is best suited for cleaning services that are about to close their doors for good. The stuff we sell is trusted and, more importantly, is regularly used by myself and members of my staff. McKee's 37 Krystal Vision Glass Cleaner is a superior auto glass cleaner that leaves glass clean and clear. Try McKee's 37 Krystal Vision Glass Cleaner for yourself. Spray the windshield. Wipe up and down, then side to side. Fold the towel and continue with a clean side. Right before your eyes, the glass will clear up completely. We're not talking clear from one angle, smeared from another angle. We're talking CLEAR, no matter how you look at it. I like the pump sprays because they're easier to control so you avoid overspray, but if you prefer an aerosol check out Griot's Garage Foaming Glass Cleaner. Start by spraying directly onto the glass: Wipe cleaning using a Waffle Weave Glass Towel. No regular old towel will do! You NEED this towel if you want to be successful at cleaning glass. The lightweight, waffle weave design removes dirt and debris without causing the cleaner to streak or smear. There's a science behind towels too, you know. This is important: have a lot of towels! One or two towels simply won't cut it. As the towel becomes damp and spoiled, you NEED a FRESH towel. Do yourself a favor and pick up a 6 pack of these bad boys. Tip from the pros: Clean exterior glass in a DIFFERENT direction than INTERIOR glass. That way you can properly identify if the streaks are on the inside or the outside. "I can never get my windshield perfectly cleaned!" I hear that all the time at car shows, and the recurring issue that I see is water spots, road film, and industrial fallout. When I say "see," I mean literally - the windshields on most of these vehicles are in terrible shape. Glass cleaners are designed to remove topical stains, like finger prints, not the tough stuff like water spots and road film. Twice a year you need to cleanse your glass of the aforementioned contaminants using a specially designed glass polish, like Wolfgang Perfekt Vision Glass Polish. Wolfgang Perfekt Vision Glass Polish is a citrus-based chemical cleaner infused with a blend of glass-safe abrasives designed to gently remove water spots, road film, and other common contaminants that are often found on the windshield of a daily driver. The specially-milled abrasives remove the offending contaminants without scratching glass. Apply by hand with a terrycloth applicator or by machine with a soft foam polishing pad. Apply by hand or machine. Use an ample amount of product on a Wolfgang German Polish N Wax Applicator: Work the polish over the surface until the water spots or road film are gone: Remove residue and inspect your results! Use more as needed: Follow with a glass coating (think RainX, but better!) like McKee's 37 Glass Coatingto repel dirt, water and road film. Applying this coating only takes seconds, and it lasts up to one year! Water will bead up and roll off the windshield at speeds in excess of 45 mph. Spray directly onto glass: Spread out using a Coating Applicator: Remove excess using a Gold Plush Jr. Microfiber Towel: For cleaning the INSIDE of your windshield, use a PFM Glass Towel from Griot's Garage. The stout, terry-weave fibers plus the ultra-convenient size fits perfectly in your hand and is very easy to control. Small size fits perfectly in your hand: Again, wipe in the OPPOSITE direction as the exterior: Use a Stoner Invisible Glass Reach & Clean Tool where the dashboard meets the windshield. This also works great for the back window as well. The Stoner Invisible Glass Reach & Clean Tool makes it easy to get invisible glass! The triangular head pivots to clean sloped windshields and back windows. The Stoner Invisible Glass Reach & Clean Tool features: • Flexible pivoting head cleans curved surfaces • Triangular head design reaches deep into corners • 14" handle extends your reach • Comfortable foam handle gives a firm grip • Allows cleaning at awkward angles without stress • Allows faster cleaning of difficult glass surfaces There you have it! Now you can clean glass as well as the Autogeek staff!
  5. On my 2012 Edge Sport I removed the cover that hides the fuse panel by your left foot while in drivers seat. Once cover is removed it was on the upper right corner of the fuse panel. it was 5 digits with a letter at the end. hope this helps.
  6. arabski, yes. A little single pole switch would probably work. I just ordered mine from White Bear Lake Ford online for 116.xx shipped. I will be installing this week once received and plan on doing a step by step diy on it with pics.
  7. I just did an oil change, Schaeffer 9000 5w-30 with Royal Purple Filter.
