The glass on the roof of my 2015 Ford Edge just cracked on Saturday evening (08/27/2016) with a loud noise. Was just driving down an inside road at 40-45mph. No bridges or tall buildings around me for anything to fall on the roof. So doubt it was a stone chip from somewhere that caused the crack. Finding no reasonable explanation, I Googled the issue and found many with similar issues and glasses actually "shattering" and "blowing out". Bought the car in Feb 2016, and had them check out the roof on 08/18/16, because the motor sounded like it was struggling to close the roof. Told it was normal. Sharing my story with pictures and hoping to hear about your experiences with this glass roof. To me it looks like a stress failure. I like it enough to pay extra for it, and assumed Ford Engineers designed it well. Defects can happen, but beginning to wonder now.

Picked up my Edge a few days ago. The motor is already whining/struggling when closing the roof!!! Showed the service manager on Monday that is doesn't sound the same as the other cars I had driven. We went to a car and he agreed that it now sounds better in the other car. Asked me to come back so he can take a closer look at it. Did so on Wednesday, Told me he compared to another car on his own which sounded worse than mine. So apparently noise is normal! Just oiled it and asked me wait two weeks. Came home and started checking online. Don't trust them anymore. I am all in for a recall. Should have figured this out before releasing the 2015 refresh of the model

Just picked up my 2015 Edge a few days ago. The motor is struggling to close the vista roof. Has anyone had success with a new motor? Had my dealership's service manager check another vehicle with a vista roof. That sounded much smoother compared to mine. Told me to come back in two days. This time he tells me oiling and greasing didn't help much. But apparently another edge on thier lot is worse than mine! Don't think i trust them after reading these forums

I am experiencing the same thing on my new 2015 Ford Edge. Dealership oiled it and telling me its normal: Another car we tested together is much better. He tested another car on his own and apparently its worse. Don't think i believe him after checking out the forum here. Really interested to know how carito's vista roof is doing after 5 months
