  1. I would imagine they aren't the easiest miles but certainly you can see the difference between 10 of those and 1400. To each their own I suppose. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with someone willing to buy a "new" car with that many miles it's just not something I would do personally unless the price was way too good to pass up.
  2. I agree in the grand scheme of things 1400 miles is not a huge deal. That being said, I have been around several dealership owners and employees throughout my life and I have seen how a lot of people drive the demo cars. If it's babied around town that's one thing but in my experience that isn't what happens. I still ended up with a good deal, paying only about $800 more for one with 10 miles compared to one with 1400.
  3. I was working on a deal when I bought my '16 Edge Sport only to later find the price was so good because it was a demo vehicle with 1400 miles on it. I was happy they mentioned that little detail before I drove 8 hours to get it! The one I ended up buying had 8 miles. To me a "new" car should have less than 10 miles on it. I've seen how people do test drives and how dealerships drive their demo cars. Do you really want a new car with 400 race-driven miles on it? I sure don't. Buyer beware.
  4. Sorry about your luck with the Sport. The shifter thing is fairly common. Mine did that on occasion as well....you shift into park and shut off the car then get a warning that you need to put it in park. The sensor just doesn't pick it up even though it really is in park and you can start it up fine. If this ever happens 9 times out of 10 you can squeeze in the button on the shifter and it will fix the issue.
  5. Add another one to that complaint list. I had a 2011 Kia Sportage AWD turbo and the steering wheel most definitely started peeling within a year. The dealership said it was most likely due to my ex's hand lotion. Seemed a little ridiculous.
  6. My first Edge was a '13 sport I bought in January of '13. I was interested in them originally because the look caught my attention. When it came time to buy a new vehicle, it came down to styling, features, and price. Other than Kia, to get what the Edge provided at the time you were looking at $50k+ or very near it. I've had Mercedes, BMW, and a Range Rover Sport, and got tired of the problems and expensive routine maintenance. At the end of the day I felt the Edge was the best value and I liked it so well I didn't have a second thought when I sold the '13 and bought a '16 which I am liking even better.
  7. Haha, the tape is the best idea yet! I've been watching other cars and tons of people around here aren't using a front plate so I will likely just do that until I get pulled over for it. Zip ties aren't a bad idea either. I'll look over the front end in a few to see if that's possible. I don't recall if the honeycomb stuff on the front is solid or not.
  8. Something like that might work but every link I clicked on gave me a 404 error except the home page. Thanks!
  9. $500 is normal. That's what I put down on my order as well.
  10. I haven't verified on the new Edge but on my '13 Sport it was because you had to cut a chunk out of the rear bumper. If you're willing to do that there is no reason you can't install a hitch.
  11. I graduated from a '13 Edge Sport to a '16 Sport. The '13 at the time had very comfortable seats. In fact it's the only vehicle I've had where people actually made random comments about them. The new Sport feels just as comfortable to me. No complaints!
  12. I just picked up my new '16 Edge Sport last week and unfortunately live in a two plate state. The dealer gave me the front plate mount but did not install it. I thought I'd take the opportunity to see if anyone knows of a no-drill option available? I really like the look of the front end and hate to even put the plate on but if I do I'd really prefer not to drill holes!
