  1. If you hold the FOB in your hand near the window, towards the rear of the door, when you close it, it won't honk.
  2. Or by holding the FOB near the glass and/or keypad as you close the door!
  3. Has anyone figured out a way to disable the cargo / hatch area light?
  4. Sounds like your lane keeping system is whacked out. Try turning it off and test it out.
  5. Just to add more info to my previous posts on this subject: After getting the updated adaptive steering software installed, and regaining that functionality, I noticed two DTC codes in Forscan, related to the Steering Angle Sensor not being initialized / calibrated. Brought car back to dealer, and they saw the codes, reset the SASM Trim, and codes cleared. It also seems to have brought the adaptive "feel" back to the steering as well. So.... either get Forscan to view your DTC codes, or make sure that there is an indication on your paper work that they performed the steering angle sensor calibration, and checked for any DTC codes, post install.
  6. Yes, even the adaptive / speed sensitive VARIABLE RATIO part! lol
  7. Just returned from second visit to the dealer this week. While they replaced the steering wheel on Monday for a second time (unrelated to the adaptive steering fault), the "adaptive" portion was obviously not functioning. Actually, while they call it adaptive, I think that's a misnomer, it's more accurately, Variable Ratio steering. That being said, apparently, this 2nd wheel was a new iteration, and required new software that wasn't available until yesterday; or so I was told. They had to download it to their computers, then program my car. Works great now.
  8. Or hold the FOB in your hand right next to the window glass as you close the door!
  9. I too am interested in the specific module, address, and code change to effect this change?????
  10. Just ordered a switchable OBD interface and downloaded the Forscan software so I can look at and, optionally, change some of my settings, like putting the heated steering wheel selector on the home screen, and checking the status of my adaptive steering.
  11. So, got my 2nd new Steering Wheel, but this time, I think that they forgot to turn on the adaptive steering functionality! In the Lincoln, there is no menu option specific to this, so it's just by feel that I can tell it's not doing it's improved low speed turning ratio thing. Did someone else say that it was just a matter of a simple ODB connection, and turning on the option in software?
  12. I also drove mine around for a month waiting on the replacement steering assembly. Only difference I could detect, was a lighter feeling in the steering, and clearly, the reduced ratio for low speed turning was gone. Essentially, it drove like the same model without the adaptive steering option.
  13. I have heard of these vehicles that have lane keeping assist, and if the system or sensors aren't set right, it will vibrate the wheel, as if you are constantly riding over the paint lines.
  14. You can't turn off the adaptive steering feature in the MKX either, but when it failed, it was no different than if I was able to simply turn it off. It reverted to not having the adaptive steering option, just like the majority of the MKX's and Edges that are out there. You could tell that the adaptive steering functionality wasn't there, but then it steered no differently than the same models that didn't have the adaptive steering option at all. Since I did pay for the option, I wanted it back, but otherwise, it drove fine.
