  1. Good evening. Have a 2019 Ford Edge SEL and for the first time since I bought the car the sync screen rebooted as I started the car and then eventually went black. I tried shutting off car and opening door for a minute or so but still black screen. Waited a half hour and it came back on. Now two things are happening either the reverse camera stays on all the time or the screen doesn’t shut off after I stop and exit car. Have done a couple of soft reboots and it gets me out of the reverse camera screen. Just wondering if there is anything I can do on my own before calling dealer.
  2. Did nothing. Wasn’t even aware it was available yet.
  3. I never noticed it was doing anything but that might be because I use CarPlay a lot. Was pleasantly surprised when I started up this morning to see the new look.
  4. It visibly looks different and there was a message saying it updated. Also when I plugged my phone in the car play screen came up as a new phone

  7. Good afternoon. Finally got waze to work the other day...didn't really do anything different...it just started working. Out of curiosity is there any way to give it voice commands while its connected or do addresses need to me manually input on the touch screen? I know there are voice commands that work when the phone is not connected but was wondering if there is a way to activate it while plugged in. Thanks
  8. I had posted this a while back and got nowhere. Filed a report with ford sync help and they got back to me..because of a family situation I wasn't able to do much with updating until now. This is what I received from sync help regarding the error message: -------------- I just added your VIN to my test account and see that the error is back for your VIN. I pulled up your vehicle information in a different application and see that our system seems to be missing the SYNC programming information for your Edge. Unfortunately, the only way to resolve this will be though your dealership. We can try one thing over the weekend before you head to the dealer. You may also turn on the automatic updates feature within SYNC 3 and see if the information will update in the background while connected to Wi-Fi. -------------------- Obviously updating over wifi didn't help. When I look at my owner site it says the last sync update check was in January of 2017 even though in my car it tells me of recent checks. Anyway, I have the file for the update and am wondering if installing and updating myself will fix whatever issue they claimed I had with missing sync programming or do I still need to go to the dealership to have that fixed?
  9. My Sirius updated as well this morning but not sure that comes from wifi? I keep hoping that when I pull into my driveway that the download icon on my screen starts showing something...

  11. Good afternoon, Is anyone else getting system errors when trying to download from owner.ford.com? Tried it at home last night and just now at the office...same error: "system error This service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later" Thanks Tom
  12. Good afternoon. I have deleted the phone from sync and repaired. Same thing happens. It works some of the time but not reliably. When it doesn't work it seems to come back on after I shut car off and sync shuts down. How do you mean go to messages manually on sync?

  16. Good afternoon. I thought things had improved post iOS update but it started happening again today. I had toggled everything off...even hit forget this device and set it up as new. The one thing I did do differently this time..as I was out on the road and the notifications stopped I was at a red light and shut the car off and opened the driver door so radio shut off. Closed the door and restarted the car and notifications started working again. Not sure if that adjusted anything or if it was just a coincidence.
  17. Good afternoon, Apple released a new software update this afternoon that I will install when I get home tonight. When the sync 3 doesn't show a new message alert my phone does..it still lights up and shows a new message across its screen.
  18. This happens as I am driving and not using the phone. Not sure if it's relevant but I notice this more when my touch screen is on the home settings (nav, music, and phone all showing in thirds) as opposed to just leaving it on the music tab. Once I miss a notification, and don't notice my phone lighting up, it will continue not working until I shut the car off and or do a phone reboot
  19. Good afternoon, My first post but long time follower of the board. Have been having an issue with text message notification on my 2016 ford edge sync 3 version 1. Using an iPhone with software version 10.1.1. I am not sure if it is an iPhone issue or a sync 3 issue but there will be times I get alerted to text messages on screen and other times nothing happens. I can do a hard reset of the phone and that gets it to work for awhile..until it happens again. The phone itself works fine over bluetooth so I know its still connected. I have toggled off bluetooth notifications on the phone and toggled them back on. I am trying to remember if this was as much of an issue before the iPhone update to 10.1.1 or not but its definitely an issue now. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this and where the issue may lay. Could the soon to be update to 10.2 rectify this issue or is that not one of the issues being addressed? Thanks for reading
