  1. Another ebay seller has an upgrade version of the stick on fender ports. *REAL CARBON FIBER FENDER VENTS HONDA EDGE/PILOT/CRV! Add "style" to your fenders in only 10 minutes! L@@K! I love the description: "That's right. You've seen them on the hottest vehicles from MTV, BET and at HIN and DUB shows! These are the newest craze on the market and it dresses up your plain fenders with style. Our fender ports are made out of high quality, tripl plated chrome ABS that will shine and last a lifetime. Each port hole has a REAL Carbon Fiber inserts to give it a touch of class! These will make your fenders look "custom made" and very expensive. Also, our port holes have "rivets" made into them so it looks that they are actually screwed into your fender with chrome studs! WOW!" They even state in the photo that the fake rivets give it the "installed" look.
  2. A York, PA dealer has a new full set of these with tires on ebay for $1000.
  3. A dealer in York, PA has a new set of these with tires for $1000 on ebay. I was thinking about them, but I live in Savannah. I also have a Vapor Silver, but I only have the base 17 rims.
  4. The easier thing would be to drill a few holes in the heat shiled and then simply attach it to the cargo frame with stainless wire. I actually think that thick tie wraps would work just fine. Good luck. Either one of thse option would not require any permanent mod to your cargo system.
  5. I have noticed the weak AC for sure here in Savannah. We have VERY high humidity and you need all the AC you can get. Glove box theory. As others have stated, opening the glove box does increase teh sound, but it changes absolutely nothing regarding air flow. Vents. Not very strong air flow because the openings are oversized. They really should have also designed the vents so you could actually shut off them selectively. My wife hates the fact that she cannot turn hers off. It would also be great to be able to shut off the rear vents. This would allow more airflow on the driver or front passenger. With all that said. My air still cools off the car adequately. Around town driving does take a little while but it gets there.
  6. Welcome to th eclub. Tomorrow makes the end of my first full week of driving my Edge. I love it. I volunteered to drive to lunch each day. My buddies were impressed with the rear seats and leg room. Of course everyone thinks the Sync is way cool. I had originally thought that the Edge was smaller than my old grand cherokee, but I parked teh Edge next to my buddies GC and they are about the same size. Of course the Edge looks much better. You will enjoy this forum. It is full of a lot of great info.
  7. Did you ever sell you bumper saver? If not how much do you want including shipping to Savannah GA? kingfish254@hotmail.com
  8. Another great resource for used car values is www.overstock.com. They have a great graph that shows mileage vs price.
  9. You could probably get some sheet metal and fairly easily bolt on heat shields to your cargo carrier.
  10. I just ordered the Ford cross rails today. They were only $107 including tax. I plan to install them myself and will post photos of the process and final result.

  12. My 2008 Edge has the factory roof rails and I am thinking about ordering the Ford cross rails to allow more flexibility to th eroof rack. Does anyone have the ford cross rails installed? Can you post a photo. I haven't found any on the site. I am curious how they look in relation to the overall appearance and styling.
  13. My Ford dealer soesn't install hitches. They use a local tire place that supposedly installs the hitch with wiring and receiver for approximately $170. I will let you know if this price is correct.
  14. Thanks, I see you live in San Francisco. Great place. Our HQ is in San Leandro, so I get to visit San Fran multiple times a year. My wife knows the city so well she can give tourists directions.
  15. I had a similar cargo liner for my grand cherokee as the one in the link. It worked very well with dirt and debris. For scuba gear, you would have to be able to cinch it up in the back so that the water run off did not come out at the corners near the rear hatch.
  16. Yes, this is my neighborhood. I live just off of one of the squares in Savannah's Historic District. We restored our 1873 row house ourselves and feel very lucky to live here.
  17. This was my first full weekend with my new Edge. I had read a post somewhere that someone bought a vinyl picnic tablecloth to use in the back whenever they hauled anything. I followed their advice. I bought the kind that is vinyl on one side and felt on the back side. I even found one that matched the Med Lt Stone interior for only $7 at Walmart. I bought a queen size rice bed at auction today and the table cloth (60"x100") worked great in the back with the rails and posts. I strapped the headboard to the roof rails. The tablecloth also fold up pretty small and fits easily in the spare tire area. I plan to get the WeatherTech cargo liner, but you need more protection than that if you are hauling long items with the seats down. I started to get the WeatherTech floor mats, but opted for some $20 rubbermaid ones from Target. They look and fit just as good as the WeatherTech for a fraction of the costs. I don't need the extreme liners since we never get snow down here in Savannah. I have the Medium Light Stone interior and went with black floor mats. The contrast works well with the two tone interior. I saw somene selling their new factory carpet mats on ebay. I believe I will do the same. I also posted a few new pics of my Savannah Edge in my gallery.
  18. Great photos! Today was my first full day of enjoying my Edge and I immediately noticed how the Medium Light Stone carpet mats where showing dirt. Wish I had the Charcoal. I will surely get the WTech mats now. They look great and I don't have to worry about snow melt here in Savannah.
  19. Great choice. I also test drtove about every SUV and CUV out there. I don't mean to rag on your old ride, but an AZTEK?????? Just picking on you. Hell I drove my Jeep Grand Cherokee for 15 years, so it had seen better days when I traded it in. Have fun living on teh EDGE.
  20. Hello all, I have just purchased a 2008 Edge. I want to thank this forum for helping me with my decision. There is a lot of great info here. I have had a Jeep Grand Cherokee for 15 years (153K miles), so I was due for a new car. I still needed the "U" of a xUV, but wanted something less like a truck. The Edge was perfect. My wife loved it, especially compared to the street rod I almost bought on ebay (1948 Suburban put on a 2000 Silverado chassis). I went with an SE since the luxury options are wasted on me. I still got SYNC, SIRIUS, Convenience, and Roof Rails. The color is Vapor Silver with Stone cloth. I wanted the Cargo Mgmt and Trailer Hitch, but I am not paying the Ford Aftermarket price for those options. I plan to create my own Cargo Mgmt and will provide pics when I figure it out. Tomorrow I will have fun using the SYNC with my ZEN MP3 and my ATT Tilt phone. Before taxes and after rebates I got my 2008 for $23,060. I think I did pretty well. I loved it when I pulled up to the Lexus CUV knowing that they paid more than double my price. Attached is the only photo I have taken so far. We live in an 1873 row house in the Historic District in Savannah. My wife wonders why I keep standing at the second floor window. This is my view right now.
