  1. I only have the SE; but i am familiar with that screen from the fusion i also have
  2. Maybe im ignorant, but how is that controlled/set? I do not see any settings on the OSD to change it.
  3. So i did my own calculation the last 2 fill ups. The actual MPG ( Miles driven on actual tank of gas) is 22.4. The digital readout is showing 28.7. I know obviously the digital readout is not correct. Does anyone have an idea what controls the digital readout or if it is computer related?
  4. Well if its free hahah cannot pass that up. I live in Chesterfield/New Baltimore. It would be the same in gas to just purchase the set; either way let me know if i can help! Good luck!
  5. I purchased a set from amazon. They were very easy to use, and extremely safe as they have safety's. Only wish i had an adapter for my drill instead of hand ratcheting the coil compressor; would have made it much easier. I personally would not pay to have a shop do it. I was nervous at first, but once i received the coil compressors i was rest assured. You can rent a kit as well, not sure the cost on that. I only used the compressor for about 15 mins; figured ill keep the tool around if needed in the future. Where at in MI are you? If you arnt far, you can borrow mine. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CMDPLM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  6. i recently installed new struts and strut mounts on my edge. I went with Motorcraft OEM for both from rock auto. Easy install and went together smoothly. I too was told to stay away from Monroe struts, and regardless Motorcraft Mounts were the unanimous choice. No issues so far, and glad i went OEM.
  7. MPG jumped from 21.7 to 29.2 yesterday; out of nowhere. Seems to occur around 1k miles on tripometer. I cant imagine that the leveling out is such a noticeable difference and the irony of occurrence around the same length of time seems consistent.
  8. How often should you do a coolant change? I am at about 104k miles; owned the edge since 65k; never changed coolant. Should i change out the coolant?
  9. i understand that. But after about 300 miles or so it levels out (to where it doesnt fluctuate as much). The jump from 22MPG-28MPG instantly isnt an average leveling out; its just not normal. Than the only way to get an accurate reading is to reset it. I dont think i have ever heard of a FWD SE getting 28MPG; just doesnt sound accurate, and the 5 years i have owned it, i have never gotten that good of mileage.
  10. This might sound weird, but im experiencing an issue with the MPG reporting. Ill reset the MPG and show an average around 22MPG for about 1k miles. Than it will instantly jump to 28MPG. I know that is NOT what i am getting. The only way to fix it is to reset the tripometer again. Has anyone experienced this?
  11. Just a follow up. This past weekend i decided to tackle the front struts and mounts. I decided to just go with OEM Motorcraft struts and mounts. Entire job took me about 3.5 hours; would have been quicker if i had a spare set of hands lol I did not take the cowling off for easier access to the top of the strut mounts. I tried; but i could not get the wiper arm loose.; so i took off as much as i could but was able to use an open ended wrench on what i could not use a socket on. No more popping noise during turns! So thats a huge plus! Thanks again for all the help and support!!
  12. Enigma nailed it... i experienced the plugs causing the coils to overheat. Costly mistake; especially if it back feeds to the PCM. My plugs started misfiring around 95k miles. Change them now, or be prepared to spend more money.
  13. Awesome! thanks everyone! Looks like i can get Motorcraft struts+mounts for about $55 less than KYB struts+Motorcraft mounts. I think ill save the cash and go with all OEM.
  14. Time to replace front struts and strut mounts. Does anyone have any insight of one being better than the other? Gabriel, KYB, Motorcraft? Any opinions of best struts?
  15. HAHA thanks everyone! Id rather replace my 104k struts with something a little less worn (aka NEW) @chefduane If youd rather see them put to use now instead of sitting in a box, let me know
  16. just went through this exact issue. Misifire on cylinder 3; coil pack had a crack in it. 4 Months later... misfire on 6, plug was pretty bad. Moral of the story; with the amount of miles on your edge, it is time to change the plugs; sooner or later if you dont do all 6 now, you will be in the near future. For as cheap and easy of a DIY fix, might as well do it now. I can say that it can be extremely harmful to drive it with continuous misfires, so get the issue rectified as soon as possible.
  17. I am getting ready to do the struts and strut mounts on my edge as well. Anyone else out there have a pair of KYB Excel-G for $85 i could buy? Worth a shot lol
  18. i was getting a misfire on cylinder 3 about 1.5 years ago; ended up being a cracked coil pack. The crack coil must have back fed and caused PCM damage. Replaced the PCM. 6 Months later, misfire on cylinder 6. Coil looked fine, replaced all plugs, seems to be running great. I had about 90k miles when i changed the plugs... it was time. I used all OEM plugs.
