  1. After 3 months of hassle, I finally received and installed my AVS slim line vent visors. Initially ordered online from what I thought was Walmart but it turns out they allow terrible resellers now. First set arrived broken. Walmart said deal with the seller who ghosted me and AVS said deal with Walmart. Several phone calls later, Walmart finally refunded me and AVS sent me a new set as a warranty coverage.

Install was very easy and they look great (IMO).

Well, I didn't get it.  I got to keep it over night.  We took a small road trip, about an hour or so from home.  We drove back home in the night.  The thing I didn't like most about it, was that the headlights didn't seem to cast very well on low beams, high beams were good.  Also, after driving it for an extended time, I couldn't even talk myself into liking the  car.

I went on to a 2014 Flex Limited, AWD.  That car, I really liked, but the wife didn't, well, she didn't like the "box"
look.  Yes, its a limited, and its got a lot of bells and whistles I didn't need.  I didn't care for the ride that the 20" tires gave, and the 3.5 Ecoboost didn't give very good fuel economy.  It was also priced a little high for a 2014 with 84K miles.

    So, my search continues....

If you liked the "look" of the Edge, check out a Sport or Titanium trim one with the better headlights (can't remember what equipment group they are included in). Maybe the peppier engine and those headlights will sway you.

I ordered up a set of Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season Plus II - 245/50R20 tires on Tuesday to replace the Continental CrossContact LX Sport that came with the car.

Someone less discriminating (rational) will be getting a deal on the Conti's at 3,700 km of use. No knock on Continental tires in general as I have a set of TrueContact Tour on my Malibu and they are a very good tire. The CrossContact LX Sport however are shite! Rough ride and noisy. Handling isn't great either.

My '17 Sport had the Scorpion Verde A/S 265/40ZR21, 36,000 miles and one blew out down the center of the tread; hence the new tires today and swapping brands.

  4. Just wanted to give a shout out to @gjb89 for creating this thread. Came across it the other night and did some research on sound system sites and decided to spend my $5 on some polyfill and WOW does it make a big difference in my '17 Sport. Like others have posted my sub enclosure had just a few inches of insulation in it that wasn't doing a darn thing. Quick (15 min) job to make the stock Sony system a little more impressive.

Love the Thunderbird. That must be worth a bit.

Thank you! Bought it for $1,000 in 2011 and have slowly been working on it. Certainly not a show car, but a lot of fun to get out and drive! It has about 119k for miles.

  6. Just got my 17 Edge Sport a week ago today.  So far I have replaced the low and high beams with LED equivalents from ALLA Lighting and used ForScan to make a few minor changes to settings. I have LED front turn signal bulbs coming from Phillips, front and rear mudflaps that were recommended on another part of the forum, LED license plate bulbs on the way, and am considering additional tint to the windows (MN has stupid tint laws, however). I hope to get some nice photos once the weather clears up.
