I looked at the estimate and reached out to the adjuster because I did notice quite a few things missing. I asked about the strut, tire and wheel not being on the estimate and he said that the strut appeared to be okay and that they usually "float" and don't suffer damage. He also said the tire and wheel looked okay. Which I know isn't right. My tire went flat during the collision and that's where the impact primarily took place.

Recently got in an accident with my Edge. Right now the estimated repair cost is 6 grand. That's without a new tire, the rim being re-finished or the r/f strut. All which suffered damage from the accident. I have BC racing coil overs on it right now. My hopes are they replace it with the correct parts and not some cheap aftermarket stuff.

Monroe or any current model New Strut Bad out the box

Monro quality has gone down the tubes. They used to be so good but we don't even use them at my shop anymore. -
2020 Edge Titanium Battery Recommendation...
Blk22Edge replied to DNBush's topic in 2019-Current Edge & Nautilius
Wondering how the OP worked out with the new battery and which one they went with. My 22 Edge keeps going into "battery saver mode" and it was a sluggish start for it today. (-5 degrees Fahrenheit) But whenever it gets below freezing I get the battery saver mode message. I'm not a fan of Big box store batteries. Thinking of going OEM but not sure. Mine uses the AGM battery. -
2008 Edge AWD - loud noise - wheel bearing?
Blk22Edge replied to ADC's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
A trick I've learned is to get all 4 wheels off the ground and spin them by hand while holding onto the spring or another nearby suspension component. A lot of the time you'll be able to actually feel the bad bearing. -
Those couple seconds before it switches to FM, does it play the preview channel or is there no sound at all? There may be an issue internally with the radio or the Satellite antenna. I'd lean towards an issue internally with the radio though. You may have to swap it out with either a new aftermarket head unit or a used factory head unit.
-
When you say switching, do you mean when you select Satellite, it immediately goes back to FM? Or does it switch between the two on its own? Also, does it switch back to FM if you select AM or another source?

2008 Edge AWD - loud noise - wheel bearing?
Blk22Edge replied to ADC's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
I'd rotate the tires. If the noise moves, then you have found your problem. If it stays the same, then there's something else going on. But the rotational noise you're getting could just be bad tires. -
20s may be easier to find than 19s but I agree that the tire may not do so well off road. Could always get your stock rims painted!

I'm running Goodyear Assurance WeatherReady 2 tires on my Edge. They're the 245/60R18 and I have finally been able to drive them in the snow and they are phenomenal! What are you using? What are your thoughts on how they do in rain? Snow?

Mine is a 22 SEL. I lowered it using BC racing coilovers & sprayed the wheels black

I have a black Edge and one of the first mods I did was change the grill black!

What have you done to/with your Edge/MKX today?
Blk22Edge replied to WWWPerfA_ZN0W's topic in Accessories & Modifications
They're good cars! My son turns 16 in a couple of years and I'm hoping to have mine still. It would make a great first car for him and hopefully get him through college, too! -
A common failure is the purge valve as well. I'd check there. I had a small leak and it was my purge valve leaking internally. Unless commanded by the computer it's supposed to hold vacuum and mine did not. To test it, unplug the purge valve electrical connector and disconnect the vacuum line coming out of the valve. Start the engine. If vacuum is present, I'd suspect a bad valve.

It seems to me like my transmission is bucking & shuddering at slow speeds. From what I'm seeing it may be due to the torque converter. I've already done a drain and fill on it and used Ford's fluid for it so there wouldn't be any guessing on if it was right or not. Is it possible that the transmission is already failing? My Edge has 68k miles on it and I did the first drain & fill at 50k miles. Any suggestions? 2022 Ford Edge SEL 2.0 EcoBoost 68,000 miles. Driven in upstate NY.

I want to find a way to get sequential turn signals on my Edge. Anyone here ever done it or possibly know how? I like the look of sequential signals and want mine to do it.

Sorry, I haven’t been on in a while! But I didn’t take any pictures unfortunately. My wheel was all set to have the paddles installed. After getting the wheel off the car it was as easy as: Remove rear cover, remove original wire harness, install paddle shifters (all mounting holes are already in the wheel) install wire harness (this one has 4 connectors 1 for each shifter, 1 to the clock spring and 1 to other buttons) and finally install new rear cover (it has cutouts for the paddles) after I put everything back in the car, the paddles worked flawless. No drilling, no soldering, no cutting or splicing. It was literally 100% plug and play. This was easier than installing my dash cam!
-
It took me a while, but I finally added the paddle shifters. I bought a used wheel off ebay for $100 and made sure it had the shifters. Some of the buttons were different and the wheel itself wasn't the nicest. So, I decided to swap the components I needed to my factory wheel, the shifters, rear trim piece and the wiring harness. After getting everything swapped over and re-installed, I hoped for the best but expected the worst. (Warning lights, it not working, etc...) but everything works perfect! A while back I checked the transmission parameters with a scanner and it said "select shift up input high" "select shift down input high" this had me hoping the ecu was able to see a manual shift command if I added the paddles. I'm very happy it all works!
