I am sure the exhaust probably gives you 6-15 hp....magnaflow has an exhaust in the works now for the edge also. And yeah...most women could care less about the mods that us men do.....but thats why they are women. More horsepower, more money, more women......oh and more beer. oh yeah......

OK ALL U "EDGE HEADS"....I SPENT 2 HRS TODAY REMOVING ALL MY HEADRESTS IN MY EDGE, AND THEN PHOTO DOCUMENTED THE REMOVAL OF ONE OF THEM. THIS IS AN EASIER (than my post 2 weeks ago on the same subject), CLEARER AND MINUTE BY MINUTE PHOTO "TRACK" OF REMOVING THAT ANNOYING LOCK THAT HOLDS THE HEADREST IN. JUST GET 1 SMALL ALAN WRENCH AND USE THE SHORT END TO MAKE THIS ALL WORK FOR U. EMAIL ME IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS. THIS WORKS ON ALL 4 HEADRESTS, FRONT AND BACK. INSERT SHORT END OF ALAN WRENCH INTO THE SMALL HOLE ON THE PLASTIC PIECE, AND PRY BACK EASILY, IT WILL POP RIGHT OUT AND THEN THE HEADRESTS WILL SLIDE OUT. REINSTALL IN REVERSE ORDER. THE PLASTIC LOCK WILL "CLICK" WHEN U HAVE INSERTED IT IN FULLY AND CORRECTLY.

I agree...bs...i think ford engineers are on crack sometimes with the designs they come up with. Were you able to get your headrests out with the info i posted???

Arbo...adding pics of the headrest removal problem.....i told you wrong. On the pc that has the hole in it...that pc has to be pushed out, not in...i stuck a small screwdriver in the hole and pryed it sideways real carefully, it slides out, and acts as a locking pin. Once removed the headrest and the 3" plastic tube comes out. I hope this and the pics help. I will make a new post and put the pics there right now.

My edge has the stock 4 spkr system and it is...well...ok. But i will be upgrading as i am alot like u guys and i want crisper/ thumping sound. And yes as one of the menbers stated earlier...no room for twetters in "" pillars....air bags. The air bags are also located above the front doors and stretch all the way back to the rear. I had the whole inside cieling panel down doing some aftermarket wiring and saw them on each side of the vehicle. Delicate work was used around those things...high dollar to replace.

Hey Mike, I have the same noise...but i am sure it is the transmission unlock, if you can call it that. The Edge cannot go into gear with out you pressing on the brake, and i believe inside the shifter there is a lock/unlock feature....i am not an expert at this...but i had this same thing on my mustang.....it sounds like a plastic crunch but is actually the shifter unlocking to go into gear......your dealer will probably soothe your mind better than my explananton just did though. Good luck. Also i have noticed with the transmission on these Edges..when you place it in park, the car will move back about an inch or so..i have noticed that when i park on a slight incline, put it in park, it will jump back ever so slightly...1-2 ".

JUST AS NYEDGE SAID...YOU'VE OFFICIALLY BEEN PIMPED..(PULL UP ON YOUR COLLAR).....

I finally got it......one of the gray plastic pcs,... u can push in and the headrest comes up, then stops. The other gray pc on the other side has a small hole on it...u have to carefully push a small screwdriver in that hole which releases the plastic tube that holds the headrest in. The tube is about 3" long and has 2 plastic clips at the bottom holding it in. I had a helluve time getting it out, so try and be patient.....i have no idea why ford made it so dam difficult. I actually destroyed one of the gray pcs until i figuered it out. Hopefully it is only a few dollars to replace.

Pics of the wheel i ordered (for the 2nd time)..and the tire i will be mounting next wed. Mounting chrome wheel, but i wonder what that wheel would like like if the face was painted the body color of my edge (amethyst metallic) and the lip remaining chrome..hhhmmmmm.

HOW DO YOU GET THE PASS. SIDE HEADREST TO COME OUT. REMOVED THE DRIVERS SIDE NO PROBLEM, PUSH IN THE BUTTON ON THE LEFT AND IT PUSHED RIGHT UP AND OUT....PASS. SIDE, PUSHED THE BUTTON, LIFTED THE HEADREST UP, AND IT COMES TO A DEADSTOP. CALLED MY FORD TECH...HE HAD SAME PROBLEM....SAID HE WILL CALL FORD TOMORROW...HIS SERVICE SHEETS DID NOT SHOW THE PROBLEM. ANYBODY HAVE AN IDEA??????

Just wanted to put my 2 cents in on the mpg...everybody is saying the 6 speed tranny...remember, you have about 4400 pds to push around, and the edge has that 265 horsepower v-6 with a good amount of torque. My 06 fusion has outstanding horsepower too..i think 235...and it does about 18- 20 in the city....my new edge has more horsepower than my 3rd car, an 01 mustang gt (260 hp). Big horsepower=low MPG....but, i am amazed at how the new corvettes with 400+ horsepower get 25 mpg.

MY LOCAL GOODYEAR DEALER HAD THIS COMPUTER SOFTWARE MUCH LIKE THE TIRE RACK...BUT VASTLY BETTER. HE TOOK MY EDGE, LOWERED IT TO THE HEIGHT THAT I HAD IT LOWERED TO, THEN ADDED THE 2 22" WHEELS I WAS LOOKING AT. HE COULD CHANGE THE COLOR, RAISE/LOWER THE CAR, CHANGE BACKGROUNDS AND EVEN HAVE THE WHEELS SPIN SO YOU KNOW WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE MOVING DOWN THE ROAD. THESE 2 PHOTOS ARE FROM THE PRINTOUT SO THEY ARE NOT CLEAR LIKE THE COMPUTER SCREEN. BUT IT GIVES U GUYS AN IDEA OF WHAT OUR EDGES LOOK LIKE LOWERED WITH 22'S.

NYEDGE...THAT LOOKS GOOD MAN. I HAVE GOOD NEWS, THEN BAD NEWS. I WAS THE ONE PLANNING ON PUTTING ON 22"s. UPS DELIVERED THEM TODAY......BOLT PATTERN IS 5/114 FOR THE EDGE, AND I KNOW I TOLD THEM THAT...YUP, WRONG BOLT PATTERN SENT...5/115. SOOOOOO...... :angry2: THEY AGREED TO TAKE BACK...PROBLEM 2....NO 22"S IN 5/114 FOR UNDER $525 PER WHEEL. SO GOING YOUR ROUTE..20 INCH WITH 275-45/20. TIRE RACK SAYS 275 WILL NOT FIT A 20X8.5 WHEEL THOUGH.......I AM READY TO GIVE UP....

I like that...if it were lowered just a bit it would be "spot" on.

Just posted 1 pic of my edge with the front windows tinted (was done today). And I am still waiting on my 22" wheels to arrive from california.....295-40/22 tires will be here in a few days. Went with the General Grabber UHP's...tire rack had them rated at #1 by customers, so i went with them....cool tread design!!! :shades:
