OK......i hope this works. I have measeured and measured and this should work. Going to install a saleen center exhaust system onto my edge. I order the exhaust this friday and will let you guys now how it goes. I have yet to see this done on an edge.....so i am giving it a shot. Saleen makes oustanding performance parts, and although they have nothing for the edge, i can customize this too fit. I will do most of this myself and will have to make new hangers but this should sound bad as___ when i finish. Below is the exhaust i am getting. I will have to adjust the mufflers of course and shorten a few tubes....but it will look great......i hope. Wish me luck fellow edgers. Oh, and the small exhaust outlets you see coming from the mufflers...those are dump valves, few more horses on full throttle and a deeper sound. A saleen invention.ex.bmp

By the way, another member mentioned the fact about him and i(good hands) paying for your new 20"s and the cost. My 22" wheels did cost more than the factory wheels of course ($380.00 per rim)...but get this..my 22" tires from the tire rack were 7 dollars LESS per tire than the factory 18 continentals from ford, and they trump the continentals in every test by the tire rack. I want pics when you get the setup on..... :yup: As former owner of 2 saleen mustangs, both supercharghed, most aftermarket companies like SALEEN can improve subsantially on every component of a factory vehicle. Bigger, wider tires improve handling. Too big can hurt. 6 and 8 piston brakes (calipers) improve stopping distance dramatically along with performance pads. Exhaust, intakes, suspension and engine pcs....the aftermarket can make your vehicle soooo much better. U will love the 20" setup. Besides, u bought the edge because "you live on the edge"...get even edgier with the 20"s. Why look like every other factory edge on the road...be different...stand out. Keep me updated on the install.

And i concur with good hands also. The eye appeal is well worth the 1 mpg....i drove my edge off the lot and not many people looked. (i was checking to see if people looked as i drove around). Put the new wheels on 3 days later...and people just stared. Have had kids at 18 years old up to 60 year olds wanting to know what it is, they love the wheels and want to know how much horsepower. New wheels seem to make people think you have serious hp under the hood. My factory 18"s..i hated...there was to much gap in the fender wells for me....thats why i lowered it and added new wheels. GET THE BIGGER WHEELS.....U WILL LOVE US ALL LATER FOR THE GOOD ADVICE.

I installed 22"s on my edge back in apr, 3 days after i bought it. I also had it lowered by my dealer with lowering springs from h&r springs. I have nothing but good things to say about the ride now. It is firmer. Better grip in corners...probably a 10% increase in noise level because of the better sport tires. I gained 24 pds of weight to the edge by adding 22" wheels and tires...... 6 pds at each corner......lost about 1 mpg city....have not been on a long trip yet. Go for the 20"s...u will love it. I have even seen 1 edge with 24" wheels and tires.

Chrome is the in thing now. I have noticed alot of vehicles with chrome additions now from the factory....and added on....just look at how many vehicles now ride with 20-22-24" chome wheels now.

The drop with the hr springs is 1.50 front..1.78 rear. I had mine dropped in apr and that was the measurement we got from before and after.

I have'nt noticed any texture difference...but i will ck.

I would not remove it....it most likely keeps water from seeping in. I would have the dealer replace it. I have been reading the post on this forum and people are having problems with their edges...i have had 0 problems and have had my edge since apr 07. I wish you luck on the gasket problem. Things like that should not be happening on a $30,000 plus vehicle.

And the explicit word was not needed...i had just typed you 1 back, but erased it. No need to get on your childish level. Go back and look at some of the posts this past week...i have seen a few posts with people using all caps. Since you are the internet police, pls cuss them out too. Now as Rodney King said of the LA riots fame, "can we just get along!!!!!Oh, dont live in wisc any more......(was there only 6 months) yeah, the cheese between my ears and cow tipping was too much. Hey that looks good man.....i have been reading the replys, and just do your thing man....do not worry about some of the negative replys. Most people who buy the edge are not into mods or even understand the reasoning behind them. You, me, NYedge and a few others on here like to do that kind of thing....we like to be differant and extract more power and performance from whatever we drive (i have owned 2 saleen mustangs myself) so keep up with the mods. I will be ordering the intake you have next week and am going to try and use the ram air kit for colder air.

If u decide on the edge..u will not be dissappointed. I have had no problems with my edge. I have heard of 1 person on this forum with a transmission problem, but that was found to be low transmission fluid from the factory..something the dealership is supposed to ck when the vehicle comes off the car hauler. 1 person mentioned something about his paint having waves in it and no paint in the door jams........mine is perfect. Oh, and the huge glass roof... people have said they have had minor problems of the rubber seal slipping out in 1 place and of noise when it closes(the sunroof). All these seem to be "new vehicle problems. The edge is an all new design even though the platform (frame) is from the mazda 6, so problems like this happen in first year builds...but i have had 0 problems from my glass roof, from any part of the edge. Good luck in your car hunting.

ROCKFISH, I HAVE HEARD ALSO THAT THE DODGE NITRO HAS A VERY BAD RIDE. MONTHS BACK A GUY ON THIS FORUM SAID HIS WIFE HAD TEST DRIVEN THE NITRO....SHE RETURNED TO THE DEALER 5 MIN LATER BECAUSE IT RODE SO BAD. NOT SURE IF HE MENTIONED BUYING AN EDGE, BUT I REMEMBER HIS COMMENT ABOUT THE NITRO.

I just replaced the mirror covers on my edge with chrome covers from the MKX. The covers are interchangeable and are easily removed by simply grabbing 1 end of the cover (closest to the door)and giving it a quick jerk. They were $70 for the pair from my local ford dealer. I edited this post as member "7" was highly upset at my using capital letters thru the whole post. So this edit is for you "7"....may we return to fight another day "7".

scoopo...I understand...my 22 setup cost a good sum of money..and that was with the tirerack which has good prices. I was surprised though that the lower sidewalls seem to make my edge ride better. U would think it would not.
