  1. I have a 09 Edge SEL. I did an oil change today and while I had it up I pulled the RF wheel to check the brake on that wheel. I have about ⅜" of pad left and the rotor is smooth with no ridges. I have 108,260 miles on it and have never touched the brakes. I periodically check all the brakes when I rotate tires.

  2. A TPS saved a tire for me. I was driving to work one morning and the TPS came on. Car steered and drove normally so I checked it when I got in the parking lot at work. The RF tire was warmer than the other tires. Pressure on that one was about 22 PSI. Got the trusty 12 volt compressor out and pumped it up. About 3 weeks later same thing happened at the same location on the way to work. same tire was down to about 22 PSI. Pumped it up and went to a tire shop which submerged the wheel and found bubbles. A fine wire was the cause. Tire was repaired and all is fine since. TPS saved me the price of a new tire or two.

  3. I changed the air filter the other day and did not get the MAF connector plugged in tight. Car bucked and a CEL came on. Code was for the MAF, plugged it in tight and reset the CEL code. Every thing (engine wise) is fine. Today tried the SIRIUS radio, the stations illuminate on the radio but no sound. One AM preset works, has sound but not real clear. Two other AM presets have static. Checked all fuses and all are good. The CD player has sound.

    Need help diagnosing the problem.

  5. Worked for me. :hyper:

There are 4 attachment points between the bumper and the attachment bracket. The attachment bracket is a brittle plastic and easily broken. I've had my bumper cover off a couple times for various reasons. The top attachment point of the bracket on both sides is broken and the bumper cover protrudes a little. I gently opened the gap enough to get clear RTV behind the cover, then duck taped it down for a couple hours to let the RTV set up. A body shop price is $35 x 2 for the brackets + labor to remove and install the bumper cover. A dealership would charge much more and have to keep the car for a while.

  6. I have Perelli Scorpion Verde's on for about 12K now and love them. To a certain extent I think "tire noise" is a function of the road surface. There are some roads with a coarse surface that will make any tire noisy. Drive the same tire on a road that has been ground smooth or a new asphalt and it will be very quiet. At least that is my experience with the Perelli Scorpion Verde's.

  7. Most new tires will be quiet. Road noise is an affect of the road surface more than the tire.

I have Perelli Scorpion Verdr's on my 2009 and love them, however on certain old road surfaces they are noisy.

Concrete that has been ground to remove joint heaves is very quiet as is new asphalt that is smooth.

Compare your prospecetive tires on Tire Rack.

  8. Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I recently purchased a 2011 Edge Sport with 11,000 miles. I love the car so far, but I have come upon one issue... During a recent snow storm, something go caught on my wipers and it scratched/smudged the windshield following the arch path of the wiper. Not sure if it was the dragging blade or something on the blade that scracthed it... Anyway, I've been trying to figure out how to attempt to remove the scratch/smudge. I tried toothpaste, diluted vinegar, Magic Eraser..nothing worked yet. I have read about trying either polishing compound or cerium oxide (jewelers rouge). Has anyone resolved an issue like this on their Edge? Is it just me or do our windshields seem a little soft?

Also, due to this situation, I have decided to replace the windshield wiper blades. I bought the Rain-X Latitude blades, and they do not "click" to lock in place. Has anyone experienced this? Does anyone have a suggestion on an aftermarket windshield wiper for our cars that click to lock in place?

    Thanks for the help!

I had the same problem with Michelin and Rain-X blades on the drivers side.

The Bosch Marathon blade locks in place nicely. All of the blades locked on the passenger side.
