  1. I have been 100% "Bow Tie" my whole life. My dad had many Vette's and trucks. Chevy everything. Engines in boats, RV chassis you name it. I am on my 3rd Chevy truck, but when it came down to getting my wife a new vehicle when we needed to upsize for our baby, we found the Edge. The rest is history. We couldn't be happier with it
  2. How much $$$ was it? Does it come in other colors?
  3. I dig it! Not the big lights, but where we are you would never need them. The Northeast, country roads, oh yeah. I wish there was a brighter replacement for the factory fog lights though..... :stats:
  4. There have been numerous threads about the brakes being a bit soft. As far as no get up and go, maybe you just need to step on it harder. Remember, you are going from the Tahoe with a aprox. 300hp 5.3 liter V-8 engine to a smaller displacement V-6. They do move!! You may not be used to the power band. It does tend to make power more in the higher rpm range. I think that might help to get better cruising mpg. Ours does shift up to 6th under very light throttle even at speeds as low as 35. Like 1200 rpm.. As far a s noise, we got the catback exhaust so more is better!!

    Poor MPG

We do many trips from LA to Vegas and Arizona. Usually average about 25-26 at fwy speeds. However, once you go above 80mph, the mileage starts decreasing significantly. A strong headwind has been the only thing that has greatly dropped HWY mpg.
  6. Carbon Metalic. If they would have had a true White, it would have been that. I have always had white vehicles but couldn't feel the Creme Brulee.
  7. SWEET!! Did it affect the ride at all? I have heard that the lower profile makes the ride a bit more firm. Are they taller overall than stock? If so, can the speedo be changed for accuracy? They do look good. I better not let the wife see them.
  8. Yeah but does it have a vista roof and SYNC?? That may push it of a million! A tad more pricey than the average SAAB. I wonder if they will let you test drive it (or even look at it)?

    Low Gear

It may be best to stop then shift to low. Being that there are 6 gears, the range is much tighter. I am not sure what gears are used when shifting to low. Maybe only 1st, or 1st and 2nd.
  10. So if we have a K&N and The Gibson Catback, is that going to change the way the tuner is tuned? (I am not sure if I asked that the right way). #2- Our Edge is primarly the wifes car. If she has a problem and gets towed to the dealer for any sort of problem, does it screw with our beloved warranty? Or will they erase the program and set it back to Ford specs??
  11. 7800 mile and the only issue was my wife having to wait 2hr to get the oil changed. It must be some special oil. Its great that our local Galpin Ford (supposedly the biggest in the wold) has a Starbucks, and a restaurant, and their own customizing company. I am sure the nail salon is soon to follow
  12. I can only imagine what will happen with a cat-back exhaust. Maybe a billet gas cap set-up........
  13. Thanks for the info guys!!!! Ordered from Autoanything. Cancelled order from Summit. Saved $11. Will get it in about 2 days instead of maybe not getting it before X-mas. SWEET!
  14. Damn!!! I better cancel my order and re-order form there! We have a long road trip for X-mas and can use the added economy(I hope).
  15. Glad to see another happy Edge owner. I was wondering though how big is the trailer you towed with the Edge? My wife and I have thought about using our for some light towing, but we always end up using my truck. The stopping distance under hard braking is a bit far. It seems that it would be much worse with a trailer, especially one with no brakes.
  16. I couldn't resist and ordered one from Summit today. $41.69 plus $10.95 handling. It says they are out of stock til Dec 14th.
  17. 20's and 30's are fantastic! 40's and 50's can also be great being they have been given the right aftermarket attention! :cheerleader:
  18. I cant wait to hear it. Is it easy to swap mufflers or add a resonator if needed?

    Poor MPG

Ours can be quite poor in the city. We have catback exhaust and the desire to lean on the gas harder is there. It is quite peppy and fun to drive hard. Its like a go cart. 14mpg in LA traffic is common. freeway is quite good though 24-26mpg. Over Thanksgiving, we traveled about 100 miles into a brisk headwind that kept us in 5th gear. It only shifted to 6th a couple of times. Averaged only 17mpg for that stretch
  20. This might be the torque converter clutch working. I am no expert in the matter, but I know that the converter clutch is electronically controlled for slip to make the shifting as smooth as possible. It doesn't just downshift. With a bit more throttle, before a downshift, the converter is unlocked to provide a bit more RPM's and limit all of the shifting up and down. I think it may also help gas milage. It is something that is changed with performance programmers along with shift firmness and RPM. Same with on vehicles such as trucks with a Tow / Haul mode where converter lockup is limited to prevent it from burning up. ***** This is just vague info on limited knowledge! Don't kill me if it isn't right! ******
  21. almost any exhaust shop will have a variety of tips that can be fitted up. It should be an easy modification.
  22. I am not sure if 3" pipe is necessary.. How loud is it? We have they Gibson kit and it is plenty loud. I couldn't imagine using even bigger pipe (its only a V-6), although the right muffler might make it ok. Didn't somebody in Phoenix do a similar exhaust? Was it 3" also?? I like the grill, the wife doesn't.. Go figure! Try to get some daylight shots of the color, because it does look like the Blazing Copper at night.
  23. I posted these a while back. Let me know if you want to see any other angles. Gibson did it for free as a prototype. We are fairly local to them and left it with them for a couple days. Here is the old thread that I posted them on. I can't figure out how to copy and paste them. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...gibson+cat+back Ryan
