  1. Our '07 is the same. Headache when trailer is hooked up. Confirming that you have to scroll thru the menu to manually turn it off on the 07's.
  2. Something is wrong.. We send lots of time in Vegas and where we live is plenty hot. Mid 90's to low 100's. Cools down just fine.. It sometimes takes a while but thats what we get for having charcoal/black interior.. Try the front window shade when parked.
  3. The brakes are probably your next weakest link. Does the trairler dolly have brakes or is there a way to utilize the cars brakes? The motor and trans will probably do fine. We have towed with ours from LA to Vegas and LA to Sacramento and have really worked it hard with no overheating probs or anything. Just be extra carefull to giver plenty of rorom to stop. Even what may seem too much space. Its the person who cuts in on you while your stopping that limits the ability. Remember also that if anything were to happen, you would be liable for exceding the tow rating of the vehicle. Obviously 100lbs or so probably wouldnt matter but just be aware. (Personally I think it will be fine)
  4. What a bummer!! If you leased through Ford, maybe they could help get you out of your lease. It seems like they could swap out the entire engine in less than 13hr. Hopefully they gave you a loaner that gets better mileage.
  5. -----From California Vehicle Code-------- 26303. Every trailer coach and every camp trailer having a gross weight of 1,500 pounds or more, but exclusive of passengers, shall be equipped with brakes on at least two wheels which are adequate, supplemental to the brakes on the towing vehicle, to enable the combination of vehicles to comply with the stopping distance requirements of Section 26454.
  6. You should be able to get a small one no problem. Theres lots of place off of the 15 up there by Victorville-Hesperia. Just drove thru there today on our way back from Vegas. My uncle has a small box trailer he uses to move stuff around that is light as a feather. P.s. Towed our Sea-Doos to Vegas last Sunday and stayed for the week. Baker grade 105 degrees 65mph, air conditioner crankin, 18 mpg. Took the 210 to the 15 and up. Cajon pass was no problem at all either.
  7. I am not positive but am pretty sure that you have to splice. Even with the trailer package, I don't believe there is a provision for the elec. brakes as many trailers rated for the Edges capacity have surge brakes(or even none).
  8. I recently changed to polarized sunglasses and am amazed at how much the glare was reduced. That may be something you want to try before doing something as drastic as painting the dash. It just might help you out........
  9. We have the Gibson on our Edge and love it. You could probably have a shop put your stock system back on, but it seems like it may be a waste of $$$$.
  10. Your bike may only weigh 385lbs, but once you add in all the other stuff you normally take you can get up there in weight without thinking about it. Trust me, if you have space to bring stuff, you will bring it. The wife can always find extra stuff to bring if the space is available!!!! :stop:
  11. Hey DUCKRACER. We just towed our 2 Sea-Doos with our Edge. We are out in the San Fernando Valley and towed them up to Sacramento last week. The Edge did awesome all around!! Even pulled the Grapevine quite well. The Sea-Doo's weigh about 2700lbs including a single axle Zieman trailer with no trailer brakes. We have the factory class II hitch (the small 1 1/4" one). Averaged about 18mpg round trip. No clomplaints what so ever. Just don't go over the 3500lb weight.
  12. I just towed our Sea-Doos over the weekend (which went well), but every time we backed up the backup sensors were going nuts. Our trailer has a box on the front for junk and had to be what did it.
  13. We love our Gibson Kit. Sounds good and no problems what so ever. It is definitely worth doing if you like the sound. Haven't noticed any change in power or MPG though.
  14. I didn't know there were still drive-ins!
  15. Hey Mounain Tripper! Sorry not to have an answer to your question, but I actually have a few questions for you about you towing experience. What is the aprox. weight of your trailer? Do you tow with the overdrive off? Do you use the small sized hitch that came with the tow package? We are towing our Sea-Doo's next month with the Edge and not our truck to save some fuel $$$. Just 2 of them so not much weight maybe 2000lbs. Any info or suggestions would be great.
  16. I talked to our local dealer service manager and he said it wouldn't cause any problems with warranty.
  17. Not worth wasting your time. I agree withwaiting for a cold air intake.
  18. So long as you don't remove the cats, you are fine. Back in the day, we used to hollow them out when removing them became too much of a hastle to pass visual. All the newer computer stuff would pick up an emission problem right away. They have o2 sensors before and after the cats to monitor how they are working. Remember too that some backpressure is good. Just because you get it loud doesn't mean its working better. Cat-Back is no problem!!!
  19. As far as smog in CA goes, you can't remove or modify ANY emissions device. Basically no touching the Cats. You also can't change where the exhaust exits the vehicle. I got a smack on the hand for having turndowns with dual exhaust on my Chevy truck because they can't put the "sniffer" up under there and it could interfere with the chasis dyno at the smog shop. Noise would be the only other issue, but a REALLY loud V-6 sounds horrible. P.S. I love the new Cube!! Do you work with him?
  20. We checked out the CX-7 and the CX-9. The CX-9 3rd row was just too tight to really be used unless by small kids. It kind of took the usefulness out of it for us.
  21. Yeah the front was a resonator. I believe they used 2 of the same style of mufflers to cut down on the noise.
  22. One thing I don't quite get is that how did it lower the engine temp? U didn't change the thermostat did you? 5 mpg better? We have the Gibson kit and haven't really noticed much of an increase at all. Do you have the programmer installed yet?
  23. I have had the problem with numerous Ford vans and F-550's at my work. Their rep said to spray whatever you favorite de-odorizer is under the dash at the passenger footwell. That is where the air intake is. This is only a mask of the problem but it helps.
  24. Not as loud as the FX 35, but kind of the same tone. (If that makes any sense) Probably between that FX 35 and a stock 350Z. Plus the Edge's throttle response isn't nearly as crisp as the FX's. When Gibson used ours for mocking it up, they said their dyno guy was out for a few days so they didn't bother to test it. It had to have made an increase in power however now it sounds better when you really lean on the throttle so there goes any MPG increase one may expect. It definitely "Sounds" faster for whatever that is worth. I think that I once posted sound clips somewhere on here before. Or a link to them.......
  25. Carbonedge07. I am glad to hear that you like the way yours sounds. I have told a bunch of people how good it sounded and to hear someone agree is nice. We have had ours on for about 11 months now and have had no problems. I think it has gotten just a bit louder though.. If I could just talk the wife into getting the programmer..........
