  1. Hey everyone - looking for an answer online - can't seem to find it. I have a 2010 Edge equipped with Sync (Nav) and I have a "Line In" 3.5mm audio headphone jack and a USB port in the armrest. When I have a flash drive plugged in to the port and something plugged into the headphone jack at the same time - sync does not allow me to choose "Line In". I can only switch between USB and Bluetooth audio. However - as soon as I unplug the USB key - Line In will appear as an option,....... my question is - Is this normal functionality?? Thanks in advance - I hope this hasn't been covered yet - my apologies if it has
  2. I would think its in the same location - under drivers dash - above brake pedal area - you'll see my pic on the first post.
  3. Nvr heard of that happening? Sorry bud that doesn't sound like anything I can help with.
  4. Pffft - "can't be done!" - Scammers!!! Glad to be able to help. Have a great one!
  5. My 2010 edge has sync+Nav and is not a push button start. I've posted a pic of what my button looks like earlier - hope that helps. I also have a single button RMST button in addition to my 4 button key/remote.
  6. Nope - sorry haven't removed the post yet

  7. Hey mike I did not try this on a 2011 with push button start so I have no idea if this will work the same way. I'll edit the post to say 2010 models and lower. If u do try it pls post your results as this may help others and potentilally me . Hopefully I'll be in a 2011 soon!
  8. Hey all i've got a lightly used set of weathertechs for sale. Both front and back floor liners are black and the cargo is beige. I'm in Brampton, Ontario looking for a local pick up. I'm asking for $250.00 for all 3. Let me know.
  9. Sorry for the late reply - just saw your pic. I don't have that located under my steering column - nor am I aware I have that piece altogether. If I do - it's tucked up under my dash. I'm begining to think we have different remote starters. In doing research about turning off this feature - I remember reading that some dealers could have installed a different car starter unit but still used the Ford 1 button key fob (not sureif this is even possible - I just remember reading it). That might be your scenario. My unit was not "factory" installed but it does behave like the steps that are described in the programming - so I'm left to believe it's an OEM unit. Sorry I couldn't be of anymore help - I'm not super familiar with different types of car starters - I had just came across the documentation that is used for OEM Ford starters and wanted to share it. Good luck with trying to turn off that feature - it's really annoying!!! wil
  10. When trying to enter programming mode are u hitting the dark blue button or the black one? The long black wire with a boulbous end and black button seems to me the button u should be pushing to enter programming. I know the button I push is black.
  11. Not too sure - I have the 1 button remote start sytem. Is that the one you have? Maybe try to enter the programming with the door open see if that works. The document states some cars may be set this way. I've tried it on a friends edge and it worked. Granted we both have a 2010 model - not sure if that makes and difference.
  12. Just a heads up in regard to the seat squeaking. I had this problem with my edge as well - this was a known issue and is fixed by replacing the seat tracks. You'll know for sure if your seat actually rocks if you try to sway it. Hope that helps - it was a free fix under warranty - I'm surprised the dealer never knew this.
  13. That's awesome - good to hear. Good luck with the Murano!
  14. Hey Loosecannon - I love the pics you`ve posted with your edge. I`ve been thinking about starting to `black out`my edge. How much did it run u on the paint job? What did you do for the chrome trim and fog bezel? did you paint those or wrap them?

Anyhow - great job - I love the look!

    Have a great one!

  15. Here's the manual you are looking for. There is some trouble shooting you can do. Good luck - Hope this helps! Wil 2008_Bronze_RMST_Truck_10-24-2008.pdf
  16. Hey all - I've got a 2010 Edge Limited with an OEM 1 Button remote starter. I've found the instructions to turn off the annoying "remote start engine off when doors opened" feature. I've tested and it works perfect. However through my research I've learned that it'll disable your Ford "MYKey" feature. I don't use it so it's moot to me! I'm not sure of any other repercussions - time will tell. I've atttached instructions. They are a little confusing if you're not familiar with programming remote starters. I'm not very experienced myself but I was able to muddle through it. I'll try to help as much as I can. I did mess up on my first attempt and my remote starter stopped working - but was eaisily fixed. The attached "Feature Programing" pdf file is all you need. Page 1 outlines instructions on how to get into programing and navigating through options Page 2 outlines programming options - in this case you are concerned with "Option Bank 2 Step 7" for MY KEY vehicles which is what mine is. Page 3 outlines programming options for non MY KEY vehicles If your vehicle is a non "MY KEY" vehicle I believe your remote starter should already be working as normal and this write up wouldn't really apply to you. If your remote starter stops working - you'll need the 2nd pdf file "Program Remote Start" Whatever you do DO NOT PRESS AND HOLD the start button to execute a command during programming. Just press the button once quickly. If you hold the start button you'll know because the car will chirp 4x's - it'll reprogram your settings back to stock and you'll have to re-program your remote starter. That's what I did wrong and you'll need the 2nd attached pdf to reprogram the remote starter (RMST). Also I did the programming with my door closed. This will all make sense once your read the instructions,... a few times. To answer the 1st potential question - the "programming/overide button" should be located under the drivers dash if it was installed correctly. I've circled mine in the picture I hope this is valuble info for some as I absolutely loathe this feature. End result - your car starter will work as many have become accustomed. 1 Hit remote start 2 Car starts 3 Unlock and Open door (engine does not shut down) get into car and do not hit brake pedal(engine will stop) 4 Insert Key and Turn to on position without cranking 5 Press brake, put 'er to drive and go! If the brake pedal is depressed without the key in ignition - engine will shut down(safety). Cheers! Although I tried this and it worked for me - please do so at your own risk!!! I am not an expert - just a "googler" Feature Programing.pdf Program Remote Start.pdf
  17. Hey guys - found this while doing some research. Found it in a Ford Truck Enthusiasts Site - any idea if this'll work on our Edges? http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/550431-hacking-navigation.html I'm aware of the different hardware solutions out there - but if this would work - it would be a lot more cost effective.
  18. I believe I have the "My Key" and it's ruining my paradise! Do you have an OEM Ford Remote start - if so - please tell me what you did to make it work like you described above - b/c when I remote start - as soon as I open any door it shuts down the engine. I've researched this issue and the best results I've read about is having the car continue running after the door is opened but shuts down as soon as key is inserted - going to the trouble of fixing the door opening problem doesn't quite solve the overall issue. If you have some info on this I would love to hear about it as this is how my remote start operates and I absolutely hate it!
  19. Glad you mentioned the Rubbers - save your $100.00 and get the weathertech ones - they are 10x's better. I have the contact info from the sales rep from Hamilton - met him at the Autoshow. Depending on how you feel about warrenty issues I would reconsider the remote start. The OEM Ford unit works fine however not at all how an aftermarket one works. To make a long story short - wether or not you remote start you still have to put the key in and crank the engine thus starting your car twice. There is no work around that I am aware of and the cost of the OEM unit ($400+taxes) is up there with good quality aftermarket units. So if you are not too concerned about fighting for your warrenty with the dealer regarding an aftermarket remote starter then go aftermarket Also - the "Nav" is a lot more than just Nav. It's the all around user interface. All music/radio/CD/Ipod info is displayed nicely with a touchscreen interface. The DVD player is great if you find yourself waiting for the wife - I know I do! The phone portion of it has great features as well. Dial pad, call histories, etc - All specific to your cell phone(see attached for compatibility chart) Play around with it - you''ll soon see it's neccessity. Hope that helps! 20. That's a really good price. I just picked mine up from Mississauga for $42 500 - that included a $3 500 trade in. I got 0% financing though - will you get that as well? Not sure you will if you get the $5 000 Cash incentive. Mine is a 2010 LMTD AWD with Sync + Nav + Vista Roof + 20's. Only thing I can suggest is get the 20's. I didn't want them but they had my exact model coming on the truck and it came with the 20's - so I didn't really have a choice if I wanted the Edge in a timely fashion. I can honestly say - they really give it a nice look,.. IMO. The Sync/Nav is awesome as well - if you can swing it - go for it! It's a must have for me. I was looking at the following vehicles and I went with the 2010 Edge 2011 Sorrento 2010 Sante Fe - almost got this one! 2010 Murano 2010 Rx 350 I'm super happy with my decision and I'm not looking back - even with the 11's coming soon. Good luck Wil
  21. I hear you man! I just picked up a '10 Limited and the '11 MyFord Touch is something to be envied. I did know about the upcoming model. I chose to forgo it b/c of possible price increase/financing and most importantly potential first year bugs. You made a good choice - your model has 4 yrs. under it's belt - kinks have been well established and/or solved. I will be first to have a test spin when the 11's come but I'm happy to wait a couple of yrs until the 2013 for finer tweaking. Once again - Good choice on your 2010! You'll have fun with it - I know I'm loving mine!!! Wil
