awtg Posted November 27, 2012 Report Share Posted November 27, 2012 I have 08 Lincoln MKX. Check engine light has come on 4times now. 1st time it came on car was still in waranty at about 55k miles. Light stayed on fr 2days. Called dealer made appoinment to come in. The next day when driving to dealer light went off. When I got to dealer they said there is nothing they would be able to tell me if light went off. Fast forward to today light back on pd $100 for diagnostic to find out the cam phasers are bad. Not my MKX is out of warranty at 77k miles and ford wants me to pay $2300+ to repair this. Looking online I have found numerous posts with customers having the same exact problem. Is there anyway I can get the manufactor to pay for this? Shouldn't there be a recall if so many are expexperiencing the same problem?
