BUZZCUT1580
My driver side front bearing went bad, had it replaced, then it went bad again, the mechanic said maybe the part was defective, now just a few months later its bad again. What could be causing this, please help, I don't want to have to keep getting the same thing fixed. The car also has a creeking noise when its cold and I hit the breaks hard, or the suspension flexes from like going down the driveway skirt. 2007 ford edge, SE. 118K miles. Please help! BUZZCUT1580
Turns out it was a rear bearing this time. The mechanic said it was falling apart. These bearings are getting annoying and expensive!
macbwt
I have had to replace two wheel bearings. One in the drivers side rear and one in the passenger side front. The replaced front wheel bearing is making noise again after 70k miles on it and it is warrantied but the the labor was only for one year thus I get to pay for the labor to replace the warranty part that will be free. That being said I also have 220,000k miles on the 2008 Ford Edge and only replaced the brakes once. Always a trade off.
akirby
I thought you had to replace the hub - that's what's causing the bearings to fail.
