sancheuz
Hi friends Got a rattle coming from my 2015 Edge Sport. Its most audible primarily while idling, and it seems to be coming from the passenger side rear area. Here's a video of the sound: Any ideas? WingNut
Exactly what I hear once in a while: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/18796-is-a-sputtering-noise-normal-27l-sport/ I still haven't made it to the dealer

That sounds exactly like my issue and no, it has not always rattled like this. I've owned the car for 3 months now, and it only started doing this a few weeks ago. Seems to me like there is a loose piece somewhere in the exhaust system. I've been thinking of taking to dealer, but im afraid they will say that I probably "hit" something and so warranty wont cover. But i'll probably take it anyways, i hate the sound. This v6 ecoboost sounds beautiful on idle, nice deep tone, and the rattle makes it sound like a cheap old car. It is on them to prove whatever is wrong with vehicle is a result of your doing/abuse. In my experience, with new cars with no modifications, they are quick to resolve these issues via warranty so don't worry. Also try this...when driving through your neighborhood, roll down your windows and see if you can hear the sound while accelerating. Usually I hear this sound when I accelerate a little driving slow and the noise bounces off the curb.
sancheuz
Yes, I do hear it, particularly when driving at slower speeds.
sancheuz
UPDATE: Dealer claims resonator is bad, will need to replace big chunk of exhaust system; work requires welding and will prob take a few days. They've ordered parts and should arrive in 3 days. Mechanic says this does not affect car handling or power, its just a noise issue.
sancheuz
Ok, it was that indeed. You mechanic about 5 hours to repair. Car sounds good again.
