lifter59 Posted April 1, 2008 Report Share Posted April 1, 2008 (edited) OK - Just bought my 2008 Edge Limited 48 hours ago and now - no SYNC messages on the head unit - the sync function is just plain missing... I have the AM, FM and Sirius menus but all I get is AUX... But.....if I connect my iPod Nano - and press the voice prompt button on the steering wheel, I can change input, genre, playlists, songs, etc. but there is never any confirming display on the head unit....so with <80 miles on the car it is off to the shop in the morning.... Hi lifter59. :D This may seem like a silly question, but did you read the Owners Manual and the "SYNC" Manual instructions as to the proper procedures to synchronize your Bluetooth enabled devices to the "SYNC" system? As silly as it seems, the solution to these problems is "usually" very simple, and not a product defect. The Nano syncs when I hit the voice command and say USB....BUT......there are no menus on the head unit - no way to make any advanced changes, etc. let alone view song data, etc. The devices I had connected before the problem started are all connected. That was my guess - one minute it worked the next it doesn't. Oh well, I guess it will all work out - as soon as they either pull/fix the unit the car goes over to GAS (Galpin Auto Sports) to have Black tint clearcoat applied to the stock grill, and foglight bezels as well as the "Ford" emblem on the tailgate. Then they will add a set of Venti V56 Black Machined with Stainless Steel wheels to replace the faux chrome 20" stock wheels.... Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Not only did they pick up the car while I was in Northern CA for the day - they expedited the repair, kept the delivery schedule with GAS so the custom paint work could be completed on schedule, when the car was finished early, they delivered it back to my house. Total cost for extra services - $0.00. Galpin took what could have been a very negative experience with a new car and made it something I will be telling people to encourage them to do business there!!
