End of Calendar Year purchases/incentives

Recommended Posts

Howdy y'all -

Looking at seeing if I could swing a new 2018 Edge Sport (prices with all incentives currently are around 38K for my option wants) soon, and wondering if historically, with the 2019 Edge models coming to dealers imminently, if late December would be the ideal time to grab a leftover '18 Sport. Current incentives are nice (0% for up to 72 +1K cash back), but will they be more motivated to clear off the 18's before January?

Ideally, I'd grab a new one, but 35K+ is too steep. So if I can't do that, my question now applies to CPO units on the lot...any incentive historically for those?

*studiously researching the best offers/deals*

Incentives only apply to new vehicles - CPOs are just used cars sold by the dealer with a warranty. Ford has nothing to do with it other than providing the warranty.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if CPOs would count towards dealer sales goals for the year or anything...

So do you think the incentives for 2018 units will increase towards year-end?

It all depends on how many are left in stock. There aren't huge changes so I would expect modest incentives on left over 2018s. Maybe an extra $1K - $2K if you're lucky.
