dcolak Posted October 17, 2019 Report Share Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) Hey, I got my panoramic sunroof replaced and instead of Carlex laminated glass I got Pilkington tempered glass, not even laminated! Needles to say, now I get tons of wind noise through my panoramic glass roof! Now I am fighting with the service to give me back my old glass or ask Ford to send the correct replacement. I did check the new Edge ST´s windshield and lo and behold, it is no longer acoustic! It no longer says soundscreen! What happened? Did Ford lose Carlex?! This is really disappointing! handfiler Posted October 17, 2019 Report Share Posted October 17, 2019 Your sunroof noise is most likely an installation (sealing) issue. My sunroof (tempered glass) is silent. I can't speak for the Edge ST but my windshield is manufactured by Carlite and has the "SoundScreen" identifier on it. Carlite and Carlex are one in the same AFAIK. dcolak Posted October 17, 2019 Author Report Share Posted October 17, 2019 (edited) I don´t think it´s sealing, it seals really well, that was the reason we replaced the original one, it did not seal, glass was warped and did not seal. Did you originaly have Carlex sunroof? Yes Carlite and Carlex are the same. I have Carlex windscreen (soundscreen) and had Carlex sunroof but now, they replaced my sunroof with Pilkington tempered, which is not laminated at all. ?
