Enriched
We have a 18' Edge SEL with approx. 41k on it . I noticed it last year and it is a minor annoyance , now this winter the noise is really loud. Also happens with super wet condition and the temp are cooler. Sounds kinda like a combination of sick goose , horny moose, and a dog getting its ass kicked. You can get the idea, its loud and abrasive. Seriously it sets off our neighbors dogs, who think they are being invaded by some new creature. This only happens with the 1st drive of the day, or has been sitting for some time ( say more than 4 hrs). It seems to come from the rear brakes and only happens while braking and clears up after a few feet and less than maybe 6 brake applications. There is also the first few times of applying the brakes that they are really grabby & that happens no matter the time of year or dampness. I read that this similar issue came up around 2007-2009 but have not come across the remedy . To be clear....The brakes are fine afterwards and give no indication of malfunction or serious problems. We did have the brakes checked with the last oil change at the dealership and no scoring or loose or binding or worn items were found. Is there a fix other that changing pads?? Sounds like a pad compound issue, the power stop Z/28 is a perfectly fine solution that is quiet and gives great performance
