It is thick enough rubber to truly protect the bumper during loading/unloading. I believe the Ford protector is just a thin sticker. The contour of the protector matched the curve of the bumper perfectly. Description= FORD EDGE / MKX BUMPER COVER MOLDING 2007-2008 PREVENTS BUMPER SCRATCHES - Seller= tcmalcom.
