explorerrob Posted June 19, 2023 Report Share Posted June 19, 2023 Hi, I have a 2007 SEL, I have tried searching the forums for this but have found nothing new or that answers my question. Here is my issue. The rubber around the center bearings is shot. I have found new hanger bearings online but have seen mixed signals in regards to replacing them. Some sites have said you can and others have said that all 3 driveshaft pieces are staked together and that you have to replace the complete unit. Does anyone have any first hand experience in replacing the bearings or is it a fact that the driveshaft has to be replaced. Thanks Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
MPG101 Posted August 20, 2023 Report Share Posted August 20, 2023 I have the same problem (2 piece driveshaft) and just removed the old one with a 4” grinder, Dremel grinder, chisel and hammer. A little work but really not hard to do. The hard part was separating the shaft. Use DB Blaster and let sit. I used a come along with some love taps and it came apart.
