Brockdog12 Posted November 11, 2024 Report Share Posted November 11, 2024 Recent issue just started with my 22 2.0L ecoboost, 23,000 miles, sometimes during idle at a stop light or whatever, the engine with stumble and RPM's drop around 300 then it idles back up then it will do it again a few seconds later, then go away, engine at operating temp, start/stop in turned off. Brockdog12 Posted January 15, 2025 Author Report Share Posted January 15, 2025 (edited) No codes, just studder then either go to normal idle rpm or die. Turns out this is the purge valve. I was able to find stuff on it with the Google. Oddly enough, last month, I also got a letter from Ford about the purge valve issue and to bring the vehicle in and they will replace it at no charge. It's under the 3/36 still anyways. UPDATE: The letter I got from Ford for a defective purge valve is actually for my 2018 Focus, which has never showed any signs of an issue. Hard start after fueling was the purge valve for me. Super simple $50 fix. Have an idle surge and dip every 3 minutes. Steady 600rpm - up to 750 - dip to 400 or lower. No codes.
