What you experienced was car entering limp mode. The orange wrench light could mean several things, but because of the "bump", would

most likely indicate a problem with the electronic throttle control.

The bump probably occurred because of a worn motor in the throttle body. This caused it to momentarily lose its position and drop its signal to the ECM.

When the throttle body loses its position, the ECM disables  the accelerator and lights the wrench.

When you shut down the car, it reset the throttle plate position, which allowed the ECM to get a verified signal from the ETB  and function normally again.

Could try cleaning the ETB but if it's failing, will probably occur again.
