LuisT863
Hey guys! After my work vehicle recently gave out on me at a little over 300K miles I decided to pick up a 2015 Edge sport with 110K miles on it. Extremely clean condition, clean Carfax etc etc. Well I didn't do my research enough because it came with the dreaded leaking oil pan. After some research it doesn't look like it's too bad of a job to do myself. But I have a more concerning issue I need help with. The coolant reservoir is getting low at a pretty fast rate but I can't find any external leaks anywhere. I just did an oil change this weekend and the oil doesn't look milky like you would expect if it was going in there. I don't see any smoke coming out of the exhaust other than on a really cold morning. Were there any known issues with this for this model? Any help would be greatly appreciated. 1004ron
Welcome, I don't recall seeing any typical coolant loss issues with the 2.7L I would pull the spark plugs and look for signs like a very clean one. Also, Autozone rent out the equipment to sniff for combustion gases in the coolant reservoir with the engine running, and if none of that reveals anything then a compression and leak-down test. I appreciate the sound advice. I hope I did not make a mistake here by purchasing this. It runs so well that I am having a hard time thinking it's something serious.
