Recommended Posts

Hi got this in june 2018 plate usa uk ford edge st line with the duratorq engine CODE T9CE4Y AUTO i have this problem

car will run ok and cool down with the fans ,under acceleration it rises quicker  the heater in the cabin is normal. The issue arises if you go above 102 degrees or 215 f the cabin goes cold and the temp shoots up to 110 degrees under load if you stop it will drop very quickly the scanner says  pcm  P26A3:84:2F   Range/Performance" issue with the Engine Coolant Bypass Valve 'A

after a lot of research it looks like a heater  control valve so hit google put the reg number in bought the item the issue is  i cant locate this part anywhere looked everywhere followed the pipes from the fire wall and this part is nowhere to be found  could be in the cabin or simply a different part completely any help will be very much appreciated

hi after 1 month of trying to replace every sensor new thermostat the heater control valve is not fitted to this vehicle spoke to ford they didnt know what was wrong  we did a block test luckily the head gasket was ok in the end decided on the water pump which has been fitted today with timing belt  and accessory belt  the water pump was a plastic one and was broken had to wait this long to get fitted in uk

this is a 2018 duratorq engine bi turbo the only reason it took so long to repair was the obd reader giving out codes im now doubting if i even need a new thermostat where all this trouble started with ecw sensor from the code reader symptoms it runs fine  then will over heat with revs above 2000 rpm
