GotTheEdge
I just got a 2007 Ford Edge SEL Plus. I was wondering how I would go about swapping out a 6 disk radio unit with a OEM ford navigation unit. If I were to, whare would be the best and cheapest place to get one? Also, I was wondering if I could put the 2009 unit in it? Thanks! Dan

Dan http://cgi.ebay.com/FORD-EDGE-07-09-FACTOR...%3A1%7C294%3A50 That is where I bought mine from. I got everything with it, including a Nav DVD. Also, they are plug and play, or at least it was in mine. I have Sync and Satellite installed already so, maybe that's why. Anyway, hope that helped. I saw that, but was a little suspicious because of this other auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-EDGE-N...5fAudioQ5fVideo which looks to me more like the OEM version? Is that the OEM version or is the one that you reccomended the OEM version? Also, I would need to install a GPS antenna right? Is that the OEM version or is the one that you reccomended the OEM version? Also, I would need to install a GPS antenna right? I have a 2009 OEM Navigation unit that I want to sell. I bought one a couple of months ago for my wife's 2008 Edge. But after I bought it, I found out from my local dealer and Ford SYNC tech support that the Navigation will not work with SYNC. We have SYNC and love it so we're not going to install it. If you have a 2007 then you probably don't have SYNC I assume? I'll sell it to you for what I bought it for. $700. It is brand new and hasn't been installed. It comes with the antenna connection cable, but not an actual antenna. I think you can pick those up pretty cheap. I would check with your local dealer to see if it fits your model. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. Let me know if you're interested. Email me at usc97@atlanticbb.net. stradt03
Why doesn't the sync work? I have an 09 Limited and was looking to put in a 09 Nav head unit. Am I correct in assuming that the sync will not work but the Sirius will continue to work? thanks. Jason
GotTheEdge
Does anyone know if a '09 nav will work in an '07 Edge? Also, would I still be able to use my steering wheel controls?

nolanative
I too have a 2007 Ford Edge SEL Plus and looking to install a Touchscreen Nav/Bluetooth system that will pair with iPhone. I do not have Sync but do have the steering wheel controls that I would like to continue to use. Any suggestions on a system? I've search here and there, but seems a little overwhelming. hndacr
no! Two different systems Not true. There are two different units, but both will work. The pioneer system which is DVD based navigation is plug in play once programmed to your vehicle. The Edge did not change to the new Clarion hard drive based system until mid to late 09. The hard drive based unit will require a four channel amp and small jumper harness to become plug and play. In short, either unit will work with the correct parts and vehicle specific programming. If you have more questions, please let me know.
Jeff McConnell
I have a similar question. I have a pioneer nav/6 disk cd player from an 07 edge. I want to put it in my 08 edge with sync and the audiophile 6 disk changer. So far, with the help of a ford master technician and his computer skills, we were able to programming it to a diffrent Vin number, some numbers had better results than others. This enabled the steering wheel controls to work but it doesn't seem to have bluetooth and my auxiliary ports do not work. Any ideas on how to make my truck fully accept the radio?
