Are HIDs possible on 2011 Edge SL?

Recommended Posts

Howdy all!

Sorry for my ignorance, but I'm not actually an Edge owner. I'm asking for an old high school friend who just bought an Edge SL. She loves the aftermarket HIDs I put in my Tundra and asked if I could do it for her Edge. I'm a little confused, because the OSRAM guide seems to indicate that her car has a single 9012 bulb with two filaments, so I don't think I can do HIDs for her car. But then I see a lot of folks on here talking about HIDs in the Edge. I don't think that the SL with the halogens would have the shield tilt mechanism for high/low transition, so this is sounding like it'd be pretty expensive to retrofit. Just not sure...

Can anyone clarify? Can you put aftermarket HIDs into the 2011 Edge SL that came without factory HIDs?

Thanks!

Thomas

Hrm, she told me it was an SL, but looking on the 'Net it looks like there's an SE or an SEL. The SE is the lower end. That's what she has. Sorry for the confusion.
