Smiley
Well I think I spent a ton of time driving but most importantly sitting in cars and SUV's to see which vehicle feels the best in the saddle. Ford Edge beats them all hands down. I drive for a living as a travelling salesman. Its important that the arm rests work for me, and the seats and car ergonomics work just right. The 2007 Edge SEL with FRONT wheel drive did the number for me. This is our 4 th Ford product. A 1990 Taurus with 140K, A 1995 Windstar with 175K and my wifes 2001 Escape with 36K. The first two cars are long gone. I am really looking forward to getting this Edge, due to the specialties I wanted I had to order it and my dealer tells me that this order maybe their last on 2007 model year. No biggie for me since I knew what is in store for 2008 and since I am not a electronics gadge freak I could do without the Microsoft options. Got to say having an AWD Escape, I can look forward to a FWD better mileage Edge (25/18). I drove as everybody here and elsewhere noted the Nissan Maurano and got to say the DEAD spot in rear side vision was way too much for me to handle and I couldn't do without that safety issue, bear in mind my current car is a 2002 Nissan Maxima with 125K on it and it has to be the BEST 6 cylinder engine on the market ( turning radius sucks though). Anyway I am back with Ford again (not that I ever left). Thanks everybody for all your reviews and inputs, it helped me alot.

Are you for sure going to get an 07? Thx Gordon YES ! I called my dealer and the order was pulled this past week. I was told it was more then likely the last order of 07 the dealer could get. Best of luck to you.

07 MKX
They don't just 'shut down the line' like reported before. What they have done is they will stop taking orders for '07's and those will be produced til Sept. 17. Then after the '07 cutoff order date; the orders that are being recieved now, are for the '08's and those will be coming off the line next. It costs too much money to idle an assembly line. Oh and BTW expect Sync to add another $400 to the cost of the 08's. At least that is the price being shown now on an '09 Flex. I happened onto Ford's site about the '09 Flex and priced me one. A Limited with every option, and it ran over $45K. I would also expect perhaps the '09 Edge to have a backup camera, the Flex does.
