  1. Just a FYI, 1 year later, I've was able to borrow a digital heat gun from someone I know. I set the temp to 340 degrees and started directing the heat on both visor's where that seatbelt warning sticker is located. The hardest part was getting an edge to begin to peal away. Once I got about 1/8 of an inch sticking down, I could grab it with 2 fingernails and it pulled away very nicely. Then it became a piece of cake to pull the sticker off. No residue was left on the fabric. And their has been no discoloration from heat. It never felt hot to the touch anyways. I then went to my old '00 Explorer and tried to do one of those. That was paint applied to the fabric. Not a good idea on that.
  2. Oh, don't tell me your still upset, that someone dropped a house on your sister? You got to get over it. How's that free company car running, that you have? Love that Avatar. Is that really your eyes?
  3. Yea ... so will all you HATERS, just leave Brittney here, ALONE!! (little hint to help you out further in your life,, thought you'd of known this by now, when you keep your mouth shut, people thought you were smart, but you opened it and dispelled all doubt)
  4. Yes we do, your quite the joke going on in the background actually. 1 person seems to be answering your questions, and that has been feeding you. It's pretty safe to say that the rest don't want to participate with you. I'm just waiting for your next report as to when you have wiped your backside, that's about the only thing you haven't written about yet
  5. Notice right below the double wing grill? Here is the MKT
  6. According to ford's official release yesterday: Not one mention was made of the Edge. Mr. Kiley could be just speculating at this point as to a time line.
  7. Is their a good reason for not pulling yours and taking a look?
  8. No, you probably won't, But you will see an increase in internal engine wear, and that would show up in an oil analyst. But most of you probably don't take samples and send them off. AutoAnything.com http://www.autoanything.com/brands/102A399.aspx K&N Filter Recharge Kit (From $19.95) K&N Air Filters (from $26.50) So for the same amount of money as a good paper filter sold by Ford or any parts store, it's about the same amount of money for 100K miles, with the added benifit of no increase in gas mileage and Increased engine wear.

  10. Other than a lot of speculation, I don't think I ever heard the exact reason, they held shipment up at the original launch date. I definitely feel pain here on these issues, however, lets put a few thing's to rest.. In jest it's easy to mention a 'Monday' problem. But what is a Monday when 3 shifts are working and your on a 7 day operation? Or you get 1-2 days off a month? These parts, all of them go along a sequence.. Most are run to DCP's,, by this guy today, and the next step tomorrow night, but by someone else. Everyone is concerned about quality. From the person who makes a part to that man's boss. Granted some problems should have NEVER left Oakville. Paint, bad door seems, etc. This CD3 platform is using a brand new Engine, Transmission and drive-line. Original model run was a hopeful 100K/yr. Due to this design success "the Mustang of CUV's" for the first year, that goal was a 175% SUCCESS. This is one of the problems as to why it's hard to get service parts to a dealership. Even assuming this is just a small seal problem, These are design/tested in Cold extremes to see if unforeseen design problems show up. I know of assembly line problems where a certain part was inadvertently left out. No particular fail-safe was there to detect it, the completed part made it all the way thru a functional test. The defect was never caught until the vehicle was in service. These thing's happen. What's NOT OK, is when it happens to YOU. I have a Sony TV that the Light block was just replaced in it Wed. 1.5 yrs old $800. Warranty. I once asked a company that just installed a new assembly line in a plant: Cost of the line was $15 Mil. I asked, what was the cost of the warranty on that? I got an answer, $1.5 Mil. So you see, everything has the potential to break, and manufacturers offer warranties, and you ultimately pay for it, because we are all human. Most items are designed for a working life of 10 years in almost every field. IF you want it to last longer than that, you couldn't afford it. Every service department will be glad to work on your problem, that is where they make money, the cost is billed back to Ford. You've already paid for it, when you bought your vehicle.
  11. What? something along the lines of THIS?
  12. It's the storage space surrounding your spare tire. Without it, it would be occupied with Foam Blocks.
  13. Yes, can you believe that they had the gall to spray something on that base AL.? Unbelievable isn't it. And it wasn't just one coat, they used 2 separate treatments.. Was that because the first one was defective? If I pay for Al. Wheels then that's all I want, Don't sell me AL. and then do something else to cover it up. If word of this gets out, then someone will start doing this to those soda pop cans.
  14. Added benefit to those is that you can also move them to the front and watch a movie while your driving.
  15. I apologize here, I completely spaced this thread when I first read it. Since you asked it in another post and some answers were given there, here is the link to that thread. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1721 I can't honestly answer your concern about the 3M connectors.. My Lincoln has been sitting about 30 miles away from me for over 6 weeks now. It would be easy for me to check this out for you now, considering, The COMPLETE INTERIOR OF IT HAS BEEN GUTTED! The only thing left untouched has been the seats, there still bolted down. Doesn't matter to me very much anymore. I refuse to drive that '07 again. That MKX is history. I figured this was going to happen about about 3 weeks ago, and yesterday I activated the Lemon Law for the state I live in. At this time, I don't want to discuss my particulars in public on mine.
  16. It's a shame I know, it's the same way for a Ford Nav. system from '05 also. Here is another quirk, Friend of mine was on his motorcycle stopped right behind me one day. I was going to surprise him and open the back electric tailgate while we waited. You can't do that either unless it's in Park.
  17. Unfortunately at this time, No. But it's not over yet, maybe about March I might have more to report. I will say this, you want to remove it as fast as possible, before it sets too long and cements in. If you start pulling one corner and use your other hand to hold back the fabric, it will come off, and you can clean it up with some Goo-gone. IF my devious plans go correctly, I will get a heat-gun in about March and try it once more.
  18. I remember that post now, but I tried to search for it, using, dead pedal and , jumper wires, but can't find it. I remember it because I think it was the first time I heard dead pedal, and figured it out while reading about it. If I remember correctly. You have a wiring harness, dropping down. above your left foot. In an area, that would be known as a deal pedal, Right of the fuse box location. Yes? Steve? Can you post a direct link to that thread? Would be better to reply in it. But this will do, I'm already typing here about it now. When I read it, I didn't remember if mine had that same problem or not. I pretty sure I had to shove that harness up, to get to the fuses once myself. It hasn't been a bother to me. I was thinking, you had written that you couldn't bend that harness up? Did you try really really hard? If it keeps falling back down too low, can you use a zip-tie? Or a ny-tye to try to hold it up? Is that what your referring to? And to post privately to someone, just move your mouse over to some one's name and you'll get a drop down option to send a private message to them. Once again, I'm sorry, I couldn't get it to come up in a search.
  19. "I am, of course, NOT going to advertise to anyone my propensity for fast travel, but when you travel vast Texas, you do! Therefore, I didn't really press it. " You don't have to. It's already stored in the onboard computer.
  20. I'd like to swap- go to PM /edit then I realised your on the west coast, and the S & H would kill it. But to let you know. I'd have done it. opening a new thread, each time gets confusing..
