Hi seacrhing the web it seems the 08 edge was notorius for some type of tranny issues. On CL many 08 are for sale and dealers who have them take a long time to sell. However the 09-10 seems to be alot better and are far and few for sale and they go quick. Im going with FWD since I very rarely get snow in cape cod. Any opinion on the 08 edge? Thanks

Seems 2008 is prone to tranny issues, how about the 09-10?

I think it is mostly just due to being 8 years old. I had an issue with the TSS and OSS sensors and once changed out. It ran great. Highest mileage vehicle I have ever owned. You are right about staying away from the AWD from a maintenance perspective.

Have the 09 MKX and have no problems with the tranny or AWD. Talked the a mechanic at local Ford dealer and he recommended changing gearbox fluid. (Tranny already flushed). Still smooth as glass (knock on wood).
