Snmjim ran 12.94 at 106 on e30 tune from unleashed. H&R Springs and Dropin K&N filter.

Saturday March 31, 037 and GT500R meeting me at Atco for a et run off for the record. Would like to see Snmjim there. Weather looks good for records once sun heats up the track.

Be there or be Square! lol you will make it 2 Unleashed against 2 Livernois.

The Battle of the Ford Edge Sports who will be the quickest and fastest?

They are evidently missing my best on there at 13.12 @ 103.5 and I'm pretty sure chris larsen has a 12 second run under his belt.

It's listed on dragtimes, and I posted my slip to their fb page. I'm just no cool enough B)

I'm still having a hard time believing what 037 says. pulling times that are almost a half second faster than most, with fuel and springs. Every time I ask him, all i get is "join the FB page"... which i did, and found no useful info except where it said "mods that help it run consistent"... whatever that means.

there is definitely something.. weight reduction, wheels/tires, or something going on here. I mean I know SOMEONE has to be the fastest... but we're all running the same vehicle here, and 4 tenths of a second faster seems like we're not getting the full story. 4 tenths of a second on a 12/13 second car is somewhere near an additional 30-50hp. I don't think cool ambient air and a good DA is netting .4 in the 1/4. The rest of us are pulling hair out trying to get to 12's

Now

Leo, if you want to keep your secret a secret... by all means keep that on lock down, but don't go acting like its just gas and springs.

Leo uses 105 octane, Lighter wheels and tires, also has 160° thermostat which is programmed into his custom tune, lowered spring, launches full throttle preload and then slips his foot off the brake. All that adds to 4 tenths. I was a Atco Saturday when he did it.

April fools, he uses Nitro and his Edge has a Acid dipped body, no passenger seat or backseat, no rugs, the car is stripped out, on a custom rear drive chassis, with 17x36 16 slicks.

No doubt his car is running those times... but you're missing the point.

most of us are still in the 13's

My best is 13.12 with:

100+ octane

No rear seats, no spare tire, no jack, no carpets or anything in the rear whatsoever, no passenger seat, custom 2.5" exhaust, lowering springs

I get no wheel hop, and the video from that night appears that I had no tire spin off the line.

Larsen was the closest one behind him for a while there, running an unleashed tune, springs, better intercooler, and a whole bunch of seat time. I'm just not seeing why the rest of us are that far behind him. I've been racing for years... nothing fast or fancy, just doing it because I love it. mostly bracket racing. never wanted to be the fastest, best, greatest, or a record holder of any kind.. but curiosity is getting the best of me here.

when you say "custom tune", that would change things. I was under the impression it was the same LMS 100 octane tune they send the rest of us.

When you say you use 100 octane do just ad it to the gas in the tank. If so you dilute it with the 93. Leo use to blend 5 gallons 105/107 unlelead with 3 gallons 93 in the tank to achieve 100 plus octane. Now he uses 32 oz Race Gas additive to 3 gallons of 93 in the tank to achieve 105 octane. He May also have a custom 105 Race Tune.

I'm running the normal, available to everyone, even Tom, version of LMS 100 race with tstat. Tom has the same tune without tstat, he's missing a few mods and so you can see where he's losing time apples to apples.

No tricks, I hide nothing. It's all Chris's fault.

Mikula, I have no idea what you are saying, I had 2 guys at the track with me who know my car better than I do, I talk to them before changing anything.

You know them as STB130 and GT500R

It was a viagra joke... and I was asking about the guy from SSI, isn't he the one that is just a real a-hole to everyone?

I am guessing a lot worse can be done to a car. Say a driver who treats it like a lease. Maybe oil changes, maybe daily beating it, loveing it up with random crap, maybe smoking. Maybe driving it 70k and rolling it back?

I would say this car has it well with dealer oil changes. Weekend driven, low mileage.

And I'm still driving it, Tom gave me the idea. I haven't even picked the next car yet.

Thats amazing! What mods other then tune? And what year and rims are you running?

I just bought a 2016- 21" rims.

Ordered unleashed 93 tune still waiting for it to arrive with the 170 thermostat....

I was running Livernois v3 93 tune and 160 thermostat. 20" light weight wheels and 245 all around summer tires. KN drop in filter, HR springs and rear motor mount to reduce wheel hop. Also, I race close to sea level and the Temps were mid 40s. Lots of power, hard to get traction.

Ive heard that Livernois v3 is an awesome tune. Im up in Canada so nice colder temps and our track here is at sea level. Im excited to see what my 2016 can do in the quarter with a unleashed 93 custom tune.
