  1. No offence intended here, but the above picture looks like whitewalls, and when the wheels are spinning I'm sure they will look that way. I try to focus my eyes on the windows or above the beltline, and I'm seeing whitewalls, with your wheel choice. /edit uhmm,, now I also see where smoked lens covers for the rear would help the dark look of the wheels also.
  2. Until I bought this vehicle I use to always just cover the rear area's on my SUV's with a piece of carpet remanent, I didn't care too much how it looked, as long as the factory carpet was protected. For the MKX, I wanted a little more class. So it was WeatherTech for all front and back seats and the rear area.
  3. 'Oh, Lord, bless this thy Ford Edge that with it thou mayest blow thy enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin, and people of Dearborn did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and lama's, and fruit bats, and large...... and then, the Lord did spake, saying,] 'First shalt thou take out thy Ford Edge. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shalt be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two excepting that thou then proceed to three. One shalt thou count and proceeding to thy number two and then raise up the thy number to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy crossover utility from Dearborn towards thou foe, who being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it.'

  5. Well thanks for the compliment. Admen, get paid very well to make a Twin I Beam Suspension sound good too, oh and also a Mr. Clean Car Wash system. P.T. Barum was the best. As for those wax products, I will probably NEVER use them.. AFTER I bought my MKX, I HEAVILY invested in proper car care products.. I purchased this Cyclo Dual Action polisher. Cyclo Polisher & I hate to say it, but probably over $1G in sealants, and polishes and other care care products. I will say that I was able to polish out bird etching from some clear coat on the wife's Escape. I waited a long time to purchase something to make car care easier. And now I'm preparing myself for retirement, After all only old people get a Lincoln. If you find you have any left over money, you might like these car care products : Jeff's Werkstatt. I was suppose to do a review on that Cyclo polisher on another car care site. but I don't think I can find the time.
  6. I guess I could stir up a hornet's nest with this post, but these are just my thoughts. I only really saw one Edge each day I would walk into work. And the style was attractive to me. Later I started researching on the Net. Well, when I came across the Lincoln, that grabbed me. The retro '63 Continental / Cheshire Cat Grill, and the better looking interior, not to mention the rear end. The starting price was very good I also thought. As for a Dodge? I gave up on them years ago. I use to work for Chrysler, but no loyalty remains there now. Maybe it has something to do with all their commercials they have run for Years with a red car, well every Red Chrysler makes me puke, I just see cheapness in their styling. They have ALWAYS been known as the cheaper amongst the Big 3, by just a couple of hundred dollars, but it constantly shows in the interior and styling. Now don't get me too wrong here, because they led on technology during the hay days of the 50' 60's, 70's. GM? I personally think hiring Lutz was a hell of a mistake. He pooh-poohed the current gas crisis, and GM marketing is trying to correct his mistakes with advertising alone. Each time I travel behind one of their current SUV's I ask myself, what Idiot approved that? What IDIOT approved the Aztec? Granted Ford shifted too many people away from the car side of thing's, but honestly, people couldn't get enough big SUV's, and that was where the money was. Ford saw the Crossover craze coming years ago and currently have 3 types on the market, An Escape, yes, it's really a crossover, the now Taurus-X, and Edge/MKX. So now I look at the current Chrysler/Jeep lineup and my head Say's, "Head, their dated! it will be so boring in just a few years, their already boring." To me, their is something about this Edge/MKX, that looks? what, inspiring? Athletic? dare I say sexy? Dare, Dare. I do think the Edge is 'capturing' people from other brands, I also think just GM people are going to buy the new GM's and I also think people that are just watching their pocketbook will buy a Chrysler. I also go buy an old Cadillac commercial, where a father tells his son, "Son, always get the best, you'll never be disappointed." And I know one old Toolmaker who told me, "for 2 bit's more, you can go first-class." So, If their was something I have wanted. Then I have done what I need to, to be able to purchase it. I'm an impulse buyer, If I like it, I buy it. I don't shop because consumer reports says this, or these 3 models are like that. Lets hope you go cutting EDGE and get one. YMMV.
  7. Welcome back Sweetie http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=993
  8. I posted pics, in this thread. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...entry6828
  9. You might be right, I just went and looked, I took a few pictures for others to judge. Lets see if i can upload them here. And for people wanting to know what a Weathertech Rear Carpet liner looks like: PS, NO models were harmed in the making of this production.
  10. I empathize with all sides here. You could save yourself $65 to $250 (for future readers), by just removing the Styrofoam crush pads, and still have the same wells. No nice plastic liner thou. Again, it has to be another conspiracy.
  11. 3 copies of this complaint spammed to this forum, isn't going to help you. Your buying decision is not a complaint, when you knew the price going into the deal. /edit to add links for 3 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?sho...entry6727 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1010 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?showtopic=1012 No malice taken at all.. excessive after market price yes, . like it was for me to pay $433 to have the 2 holes filled on the front bumper, where the license plate braket USE to be.
  12. Well I see Watertown Ford dropped the price of the pimpmobile now to $38195 http://www.watertownford.com/detail-2007-f...l+-2032301.html
  13. "and I live in Ontario (the sun angle may be different)" Well that explains why it's not a bother to you now at this point, but when the sun never rises above the equator in the middle of winter and your driving to and from work with the sun in your eyes, then you might notice the splotchyness mixed effervescently with a slight twist of glare.
  14. I bet it's the Metric conversion. I remember know when I was in Europe, It always messed me up, when I found out I was on METRIC TIME. Remember those foreigners are dividing out hours into 100 minute's. Have your service manager check to see if Walmart can supply a new flux capacitor and report back if this helps with the polarization of the 'fleeting splochyness problem. sheesh.. women...
  15. Easy now,,, Maybe the better approach would have been to CALMLY ask the service manager to please replace all the glass in each and every vehicle you see this in. You have to remember, that only with polarized eyeballs, we lose that ability at around age 6 months, and it's only thru a man-made appliance that we pick up later in life, will these flaws become apparent. Have you had someone else drive side by side with you, to observe if these 'splotch's' are only occurring in your vehicle? Another train of thought that comes to mind is, "Is it also doing the same thing, when you are using a GPS?"
  16. Did you start to notice sploches in the factory dark tint glass on a lot of vehicles after that? I did.
  17. I've seen where their are major and I mean MAJOR oil pipelines buried underground. The refineries located along the gulf, refine the crude oil to petrol and start pumping it into those lines. They send kerosene and gasoline and other distillates one after another into that pipe. The end point of that petrol is the upper Midwest. If I remember correctly, they do not even place a plug or anything between different products that are pushed thru that line. The smaller refineries located along that oil line, start pulling it off, and adding octane boosters to the petrol, and then placing it into trucks for delivery to your local gas station. By Rights, everyone is actually getting the same petrol, it's just the different additives that get used. Was it the beginning of 2000, that all local sellers of petrol, had to use a non-leakable tank (ie fiberglass)? Thus forcing a lot of small mom & pop stations out of business. Your edge now comes with a lifetime fuel filter. This is because of the reduced amount of contaminants from the holding tanks. I have a vehicle that for over 8 years, I will drive it past what the computer tells me is empty. And then I refill. I have not lost a fuel pump to excessive heat. And I believe I also reduce the chance of water buildup that way. Remember, a low fuel tank cause's sloshing and mixing of water and gas, and that will also help displace water buildup. Since the fuel system is pressurized, again; just a small chance of water mixing with your fuel. I hope this helps to dispel a lot of urban myth's.
  18. I thought I had coined that, along with "It's Not you, It's me!". No wait, George Costanza has that one
  19. I think this was where I bought mine from. About $100+, maybe close to 149, can't remember exactly. Polished Stainless Steel, 3M adhesive on the back. Extremely expensive for what you do get. If you wait a while, maybe someone else will come out with plastic or a lower price, but if you don't mind paying, there OK... Just be careful installing them, you only have 1 chance to get them aligned correctly.
  20. Damn, and after I promised myself I wouldn't do this... oh well.... So, totally off topic here but, you actually finished high school huh? Cuz I have no idea, either way.
  21. Greetings: #1, I have the Navigation unit, and it has a space at the end of the 'Media' panel for auxiliary. Inside the center console is a built in plug receptacle for your iPOD. I however do not have an iPOD, so I can't go further into the operation for you. But I wouldn't be surprised if some options pop up once an iPOD is plugged in that you can scan it by group. And I'm sure you'll be able to cycle thru the songs from the steering wheel. Others would have to tell you how it works. #2, Maybe do a search on here for mirrors? Was it Salean that installed turn-signal mirrors in his/hers Edge? I do know their are 2 photo's of it and a description of how it was done. Good question on doing it for a Lincoln, as the outside mirrors are also Auto-dimming/heated mirrors too.
  22. HA, your lucky.... I found out the oil on my driveway, wasn't coming from any vechile 'I' owned. I keep seeing the puddle getting bigger, and Bigger, and BIGGER every day. And it wasn't even in the spot where I parked my vehicle. Then one day, I touched it and it was HOT. I went into the house, called out to the wife "WILMAAAAAAAAA!!!!!" She replies, "Yes, Fred?" oh,, uh,, sorry,, ahh forget it..... we don't have any milkmen, where I live anymore.. wonder if it is the rural route mailman, or Schwann's man.. Hey, i'm getting fed and better leave it at that......
