  1. Not a problem with the 401A package so that's good to know, thank you. Do you know the exact tire size/dimensions for the 21s? Curious as to what options there really are out there. Would also like to see the ST with the 20" rims (smaller version of what's on her sport now). The pics I've seen all have the blacked out 21s.

  2. Thank you for the info! Was hoping to get the black rims without the summer only tires... bummer. Not sure if the rest would be worth it for a daily driver of this nature (long term cost per benefit) but I did like the looks of the darker rims on the new performance blue color.

Just saw other posts where you can get just the rims without the package but guessing that swaps tires too. Might just look for aftermarket 20's instead... depends on the look of the stock 20s I guess.

  3. Are those the standard (obviously blacked out) 20" rims or the 21"? It's been hard to find decent pics/info about the options and apparently Ford's not in any hurry to release the thing since their website doesn't allow config yet. Kind of curious what the eventual performance brake package will include and if it's worth waiting for.

  4. Had those on my 2014 GMC pickup and they were great tires...but they were worn out at 22,000 miles

Wow, hope they go longer than that. We made 40K on the stock Pirelli's which were fine, but pricey. Only keeping the vehicle another year, two tops but sheesh, that's almost as bad as the Mich Pilot Sport's on my CTS-V.

  5. If you are going to buy an extended warranty the BEST time to do so is at purchase or within the first year/12K miles as the price climbs from there. For example, our Edge Sport AWD 6/75 was under $600 for a PremiumCare Ford ESP warranty at purchase. If we had waited until the end of our factory warranty it would have more than tripled. Just FYI for those that are considering it.

  6. Just as follow up, more service on our Edge's front end/suspension was needed recently (Sadly, this has not been an ultra reliable vehicle for us) but another wonderful experience at AutoNation in North Canton, OH. Alan and company once again handled everything perfectly and got us taken care of. I cannot say enough good things about their service department which is unusual based on my past experiences with other Ford dealerships and other makes/models service departments.

  7. Just wanted to take a minute to post after another positive dealer experience. Our Edge Sport hasn't exactly been bulletproof but our service at AutoNation in North Canton, OH has been very, very good. They have genuinely worked to resolve all the issues we've had and are very good at staying in contact/sending updates. This is an enormous contrast to a dealer more local to us in Akron (we had to use once due to the nation of the problem and found out quickly just how good we have it driving down the road another 30 minutes). Doubt they read the forums here but if so, Alan and company, thanks and keep up the great work!! Anyone looking to get a Ford in the NE Ohio area would be well served to stop in and take a look there.

  8. The front right suspension was replaced and the last time it happened on the front left side the dealer could not reproduce. It seems to worsen after driving in the rain but thus far it's been quiet again. I'll update this thread if it recurs and we have to take it back in (now on our extended ESP warranty dime versus free/factory warranty).

  9. You're welcome. Good luck!!

As an FYI, our dealer performed the TSB on all 4 rims and tires just because they didn't want to chance any issues. (We had 1 frequently leaking and 1 other occasionally.) That dealer's service department is pretty solid (the local dealer we went to previously was HORRIBLE) so if you have a good relationship with your dealer it's worth asking to have all 4 done while you can.

  10. FORD TSB Number: 12-6-2

Vehicles: 2009-2011 Ford Edge and Mercury MKX

Condition: Corrosion and on the lip of 22-inch rims and whiskers/vents on the tire’s bead seat may cause the TPMS to illuminate.

Solution: Disassemble the rim and tire and clean the rim and tire bead seats with a maroon Scotch-Brite pad.

This is an update/replacement for TSB 11-05-16.

Hope that helps! (Sorry, I don't have a copy of the actual TSB or I'd of uploaded it here) The dealer can look it up by the number though and reference the original TSB too.

  11. They need to perform the updated TSB which includes the original (deep cleaning) as well as applying some goo/sealant to the tire and rim before remounting. Ours has been ok for about a year after this 2nd TSB was done. Limits getting tires replaced at Ford though which isn't a real fix IMO but then again lots of things on this vehicle haven't been properly corrected IMO despite the dealer trying.

  12. The date of your APIM is probably similar to ours which required a dealer visit for a previous update. The most recent one was applied via USB without issue so yours is likely more than 1 version behind. It should be free just call ahead and if you have NAV be sure they have an updated NAV SD Card in stock before getting there or your NAV won't work after (if it's not the most current version, A4 maybe?)

  13. My understanding is that the bolt pattern is the same so there shouldn't be a fit issue. Your mileage will decrease slightly (as will off the line performance) due to the increased force necessary to get your momentum going on the bigger rims but it shouldn't be much. Also, your speedometer will be a slightly off and may need adjusted (not sure if any tuners exist or if the dealer would have to do this) due to the increased overall size of the new rims/tires versus your old one. If you previously had 20s it'll be a little off but if you have 18s it could vary a few MPH+.

  14. Installed the recent update and I also have a forked up DST but I just manually set the clock and it's fine for now. I don't have the upper case issue with the wifi that others reported though... I can enter upper, lower, characters, whatever and it seems to work ok. One other improvement is it finally displays the song/artist on the home screen now where before you had to be in audio or another area and it would display in the bottom left but on the home screen it used to just show the presets now it shows presets and song info.
