  1. Why did you not pursue a lemon law for the vehicle? If the regional manager is unwilling to address the problem then you should have repeatedly taken it to the dealer and asked them to keep it until properly repaired. After 2 attempts or 20 days out of service you then send a certified letter to Ford HQ at which point they are notified of a final attempt at repair. If they are unsuccessful you can pursue a replacement/refund. I can certainly appreciate your frustration as I have been through the process with a different vehicle (not Ford) but there's no reason to accept a faulty product when obviously others are not having this issue.

  2. Voice control is improved IMO in this version, slightly. It never has had an issue with my wife, only my voice but it did better on the commands I've tried thus far since the latest update.

"Also a huge problem is they have relied so heavily in the functioning of this system that hard button/knob controls are missing for things like HVAC. Last winter we had no heat or any control of the system"

I'll agree the hard knobs missing was a mistake, 100%, but if your car had no heat control why not take it in for service and let the dealer replace your hardware? That is a warranty fix.

  3. I'd agree the MT is far from perfect but at least Ford is making an effort to correct it as well as provide NAV users with free map updates and extend everyone's warranty on the system. Very few tech products are perfect but I like a company that puts forth an effort to fix their problems. Heck, too many cell phone companies just abandon bad models and say too bad, buy a new one. Having said that, my phone pairs just fine but whenever a call is made it is not useful (garbled audio). I'm pretty sure it's the bluetooth stack in my old Samsung phone so next time I get a phone, I'll test it in the car before agreeing to buy just to make sure it works as well as check the syncmyride site if they update their list.

  4. So far so good. For anyone who has the clicking sound, we had a "noisy" CV joint. The entire right front axle / halfshaft assembly was replaced after the tech spoke with Ford's hotline. So far no noise but I'll report back if anything changes.

The drips ended up with half the engine being torn down. Power steering lines were replaced as well as multiple gaskets on the engine block, valve covers resealed and a few other seals were replaced. (I like their thoroughness.)

Most work we've ever needed on our Fords... yikes. But hey, if it fixed the issue(s) I'm good :)

  5. I posted this in the general forum but noticed this one (sorry for the double post). Long story short, my wife's 2011 AWD Sport with the 22s is making a clicking noise (sounds like it's coming from the front wheels or perhaps the break assembly) when she makes a left turn. Once the wheel straightens out it stops immediately. I checked for rubbing and found no signs. It sounds like a metallic clip in a bicycle wheel spoke almost and it's happening on both front sides. We're going to make a trip to the dealer when time allows but if anyone has any ideas to check for I'd really appreciate it. The turns don't have to be hard, just any left turn regardless of speed or tightness of the turn. Thanks in advance for any help.

  6. Good news, thanks. That is 1 of the 2 items that I don't like with the update. The other is the radio shows "Entertainment" instead of artist/title unless you're on one of the sub screens and not the home screen. Why the home screen couldn't also show it like it did before is beyond me.

  7. So I was riding in my wife's Sport AWD (22s) the other day with the window down and noticed a ticking noise coming from the passenger side (not sure if it's front and/or back) during slow turns. Once the wheel straightens out it stops but something is definitely clicking during the entire turn. I looked to see if I could spot signs of rubbing in either wheel well and didn't but wondered if anyone has a guess or if this is common before I take it into the dealer to be told some BS line. And help is appreciated.

    Thanks!

  8. I also have an 11 Edge build date Jan.11. Dealer did my update but didn't have to and did not replace the APIM module. When they were done, I had a similar problem with my navigation and my phone as well. I did a master reset with the nav card removed and cleaned out my phone text messages and also re-booted the phone by removing the battery and re-stalling it. The system seemed to go into a long re-set mode but finally straightened itself out. Please make sure the nav card sets itself firmly when you reinstall it. It sounds like your issues may be more involved. Good luck.

Ours either but now less than a week later it just mega crashed. Hoping some shut down time to think about what it's done will fix it :) I wish ya luck that yours doesn't follow ours but I wonder why Ford wouldn't just replace all the apims if they know there's a chance they'll flake out as early 11 models.
