  1. Update: got the 10B20 update today. First time, dealer flashed the wrong file -- lost my Nav. Brought it back, they apologized, flashed the proper file this time. Don't see any difference, nothing seems to behave any better/worse or faster/slower, features seem the same....
  2. Ok, see... THIS is why I'm not jumping on the updates! (and I'm the kind of guy who usually updates everything immediately) Sync/Touch = great idea, terrible execution. I love having it, but I'd complain a lot less if it actually worked like it was supposed to. Who wants to wait a minute for their car to decide to play the next mp3 track? Or wait 30 seconds to turn on the seat heat? (My butt is cold now!)
  3. In fairness to the consumer - the stuff that isn't working ought to have been working the day I bought the car!! But seriously, I'll get the update. It's not fear keeping me back - it's distrust. I don't want to wait at a dealership. I don't want to have to go back after they mess something up. Ok, I'm cynical -- but there's plenty of history to back it up.....
  4. (fingers crossed for a magical update that fixes all the Sync nuisances)
  5. Yeah, we don't have a Jukebox feature. I decided not to order it, based on the fact that this guy obviously doesn't know anything about my '11 Edge.
  6. I haven't tried Verizon, but I know it won't work with my AT&T USB card. So far, the only success I've heard of is using Bluetooth to get the car connected to the internet - then it sounds like the car's wifi hotspot functionality works....
  7. I get the SAME thing on my 2011 AWD Edge - at lower speeds, if I let off on the gas a bit, coast for a sec, and then hit the gas again, I get a loud THUNK as it kicks me into gear. (I'm not even flooring it) Guess I'll check with the dealer and see if there's a known issue on the 2011's
  8. I get the "Performing scheduled system maintenance" screen at least once or twice a week... it used to really piss me off, but I just ignore it now. Sigh. I got the letter about the Sync update, but I'm still not sure if I want to do it, after reading about some people's experiences with it.... Just wish Ford would get it right!
  9. That's cool.... I'm trying to use a USB data card though (since I have one from work) -- I don't have a data plan on my iPhone.
  10. I just e-mailed Brett at Coastal, and he says this: "Great News! The Sync 2011 Edge factory Ford radio with the internal hard drive and "Jukebox" mode is completely compatible with the Coastal Electronics Sync LockPick. This LockPick offers features such as NAV in motion, video in motion, and camera on demand (if equipped) which allows full camera viewing in any gear!" It seems like they say it will work, and I'm thinking about ordering it, but I'm still talking to him to make sure this is fully compatible with the 2011 Edge Limited.
  11. Oooohh, THAT explains it! Thanks for the info -- this was really bugging me too.
  12. In park, I even get an address... but I can't access anything on the device. It's like I joined a private network that has no internet access. Wireless client has an IP and a default gateway assigned from the Ford Edge, but that's about it! Let me know what you find...
  13. Hahaha, yeah, I knew somebody would point that out. I'm due for a wash, but its been raining here.... Oh, and yeah -- paint chips in the brochure + ford website did NOT do this color justice.... I wanted Tuxedo Black, but when I saw this one on the lot I changed my mind!
  14. Don't forget a 710 cap
  15. FYI, I use it on OS 10.6, on Safari, and it seems to work ok....
  16. No prob. I can't help it - I want to at least *try* all the features I thought this car had when I bought it!!
  17. I know there's no browser yet. I asked how to make the hotspot function work. I can create the hotspot, and join it, but it seems that devices on the hotspot can only talk to each other, and traffic isn't routed out my USB data card to the internet.
  18. I'll go take a better pic in a little while. In the meantime, here's one from the night she came home...
  19. I've been trying to get the WiFi hotspot feature working on my 2011 Edge, but no luck. I have a USB card with AT&T service (the Mercury model) that ought to work -- I know it works on my laptop... When I plug it in, the car seems to see it (I can select it on the screen). I go to the WiFi screen, and tell the car to create a hotspot... then I try to connect to that hotspot from a laptop. I can connect, and I get an IP address -- but I can't get out to the internet..... Has anybody made this work?
  20. Got my 2011 Edge Limited at the end of September.... Limited AWD in Earth Metallic with Rapid Spec 302A, tow package, 20" wheels. Love it!
  21. YES. It happened once on my Limited, a few weeks ago. Shut it off, came back a few minutes later, and problem went away. Took it to the dealer, and they basically were useless - saying if it wouldn't do it for them they couldn't help. Only happened the one time, though.
  22. Hey, I had the same dream.... too bad at this point it's looking like just that and nothing more. ALTHOUGH -- you COULD use the dock connector to video out, and get some apps to work on your touchscreen. CONS: wouldn't work while driving, and no touch functionality.
