  1. In MO, it's out of service for 30 days in within one year of purchase....I am out 16 days tomorrow. so what happened with your other vehicle? And how much did it cost you to file if applicable?
  2. How is everyone's Edge performing in the snow? FWD and AWD...This Fusion I have is ASS! I was all over the road! I would attribute it to the All Season tires without and M+S rating... anyone?
  3. I wouldn't bet against any. I threw the lemon law notion on the proverbial table and said wow, I've been without my ride for 15 days now, what's the lemon law in Missouri? Another salesman said 30 days out of service in one year of ownership...and replied "you've got 15 more days and you'll get a new vehicle." The thing is -- I already have a new vehicle! Oh well, we'll see. I am still confident this will get resolved...and I sure don't want the added headache of a legal battle.
  4. Just like anything in I.T. Version 1.0 will look good on paper, it will launch with bugs, revisions will be made, and with each update things will be fixed and the user experience better. Yes you spent thousands on your vehicle, just like me, but things will get better. Looking at the big picture, speaking for myself of course....MFT was completely dead. The dealer now has it up and running. There was an SD Fault error, which is now resolved, and only my stereo controls for bass, treble and midrange remain. Sure my Edge has been out of service for two weeks now, but with the weather being as messy as it has been, I'm kind of glad I am not driving it! Cheers! Brian
  5. Well the dealer called me this afternoon and they have resolved my SD Fault error. They replaced the SD card with a new one and no more error. They said they still have not got my audio controls for bass, treble and midrange resolved. They told me it would take a few more days of working with Ford. So they are really close now! They asked if I would like to pick it up and bring it back another time for them to complete the work and I declined. Not until it's working as advertised. SO close though! They ARE working on it thought and that is the main thing! Good luck to everyone else! brian
  6. For now I have a blue 2011 Ford Fusion with the sticker still affixed to the driver side rear door! But when I get my Edge back it's Tricoat White SEL. I will look for you all as I am in the 270 / 40 area, and even Kirkwood sometimes, and A LOT of time at Chesterfield Brick House in the Valley! Brian
  7. I would like to apologize for any negativity I have posted fueling this mess, and your decision to leave. My vehicle has been out of service for two weeks now, and I've been consumed by the negativity being posted by others, here and other forums. I am done with it. The Edge is a GREAT vehicle, and this issue being experienced by a small number of Edge owners will get resolved. Like my dealer informed me last night, he has sold over 200 2011 Edges and *I* alone am the only one having any kind of trouble.... 1 in 200!! Pretty damn good odds that prospective Edge owners will get a great, problem free vehicle! Brian
  8. As a reminder (to myself included!) let's stay on topic and post useful updates. Those of us actually having issues (yep, there are very few of us compared to the number of Edges sold!) - yes, it's very frustrating - but being negative and focusing on this single issue does not make the vehicle a POS. This will get resolved. I've been consumed by all of the negativity surrounding the MFT/Sync issue and my vehicle being out of service. So as of today anything I hear from my dealer/Ford - I will post. Hell, I have a 2011 Fusion my dealer provided to use until my Edge is back, I am putting miles on their car. The weather is supposed to be ASS this weekend, and my Edge will be sitting it out! Keep the faith folks, keep your rants between you and Ford - and when you're at the dealer, and remember, it's not their fault! Brian
  9. I really think this is off topic.... I have been sucked into all of the negativity regarding this one single issue - it has literally consumed me for the past two weeks now. I am done. This issue will be resolved. The more I think about - I really do like my Edge. I thought to myself - if my Edge is deemed a lemon, what would I purchase next, and I had only one answer. Another Edge. There are A LOT of people out there who are having no issues at all, and I am in the minority. What good does it do me, or anyone else to constantly complain about this? The issue will not be resolved any quicker. The bottom line is the Edge is a great vehicle, and Ford will get this resolved. I will continue to post updates to those who are in fact having the same problems. Keep the faith folks! Brian
  10. I did ask my dealer about this very thing tonight. They tell me they have sold over 200 [2011 Ford Edges] and to date I am the only one having this issue with MFT/Sync. The service department also confirmed this. I also spoke with a couple of 2011 Edge owners and they have also reported no problems and really "love the MFT/Sync" It almost seems like the internet amplifies our issues. I for one can tell you I have been researching this and have been sucked into all of these posts and really are adding to my frustrations...just sayin'.... FML!
  11. Well I got the call that my Edge was ready today - module replaced with one from another Edge...LOL. Updated the software, and good to go....wrong. Tested the MFT/Sync at the service department...findings: SD Fault - never seen that one! Radio controls for treble, base and midrange...nonfunctional. Keep it until it's resolved. I will not accept anything less than all advertised features working like they were before the system crashed. If you are getting your Edge updated, make sure you get out the owners manual and test everything - if it's still broke then leave it. That's all from Edge woes in St. Louis - good luck to the rest of my Edge Peeps! Keep the updates coming!
  12. Well, I just returned from My Ford Dealer, without my Edge. They took a module off another 2011 Edge, called me and told me what they'd done. I of course told them NOT to do this because the issues are still not resolved...what ever vehicle they chose. They updated the software which apparently was an all day event, and then called me this afternoon and told me it was "ready". I went to pick up my vehicle and said I did not want to drive out of service until I tested the system. I tested it and I found that the stereo controls for the base, treble and midrange to be non functional. The Nav had an SD Card fault error and I stopped there and told them to keep it. So back to the nation wide wait for the sync unit or a fix. I jokingly asked how many days the vehicle had to be out of service before it was considered a lemon in Missouri, and he told me 30 days...so we shall see. That's all for me this round!! Next!

  15. My dealer has treated me well too, I was provided a 2011 Fusion SEL - my problem is - This is not the vehicle I paid for. The problem remains unresolved and sounds like it's going to be more of a headache than it's worth. Great car, issues like this make me fear for future issues AFTER the warranty expires. These electronics are NOT going to be cheap either...heck if they charge to just install the updates...cost of ownership will continue to rise. Oh well...live and learn. Cutting "Edge" and version 1.0 - issues can be expected...I work in I.T.
  16. I received the same courtesy you did...my new module came in today and they would call me to give me an update. Well, it's after 6:00PM local time and no call. I didn't even bother calling. What's the number to Ford Corporate? The number you called, I think it's time for myself to file a formal complaint.
  17. After 30 days out of service, I would hope your attorney has something up his sleeve regarding the lemon law in your state. How many chances does the law possibly allow for the manufacturer to resolve these kind of issues?!
  18. You are considering taking delivery with all of these known unresolved issues? Wow. Make sure they write in a 30 day return policy! Or at least a 3 day return policy!!

  22. Wow PinkE! That is awful! I'll let you know if the same thing happens to me today. The module came in, and they are installing today...I will try to collect as much information as I can for you so you can forward it to your dealer.
  23. Did your dealer happen to tell you how long this would take?? Not that I am anxious or anything, but it sure will be nice to have my Edge back...The Fusion SEL I have is a nice car, but the Edge is just so much nicer...minus the MFT issues!
  24. I hope you're right...I really don't want them tearing the thing up for a software fix! I better have all the updated numbers before I pick it up as well...the last thing I want to happen is for them to install a new module without the update! That would be my luck! And good luck to you tomorrow, just report back ASAP!
  25. I vote we get this thread deleted or moved to your thread...I agree this is redundant - we all will be looking and watching for updates - post patch install.
