  1. Things are moving for a few of us I see. I just got the call from my dealer this morning...Errr I called them...they told me my new MFT/ Sync Module has come in...Should be an interesting day! I am going to sit in the service bay and test everything before I take possession of my Edge. If there is so much as a color off on the ambient lighting it is staying until I am satisfied I am getting what I paid for. Good luck to us all and remember to update this thread!!!
  2. To all 2011 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX owners with the MyFord Touch sytem - There is a new software update (G2 V1.1) that is now available through Ford dealers. We are taking the opportunity to offer a software update to add enhancements and compatibility improvements as well as correcting functionality of several features. As a planned, standard process of the SYNC and MyFord Touch development process, we continue to evolve and improve the software as we add the system to new products in our line-up, such as the Explorer and Focus. This new level of software is now being made available through this current update to existing MyFord/Lincoln Touch owners. We strongly recommend that you first contact your local Ford dealership so that they can schedule an appointment for the MyFord Touch software update. Thank you,
  3. I concur! If Ford only put that 3.5 Eco in The Edge! And Mustang, Explorer, Fiesta and Fusion!
  4. Can't wait for the update!! (pun intended!) Good luck, and hopefully this does the trick!!
  5. so are you still driving your Edge or is it sitting at the dealer like mine...in a holding pattern?
  6. So was your dealer surprised to learn of this TSB??? Just curious, I was thinking about calling my dealer as well...
  7. Thought this maybe of interest to some.... http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/suvs/1011_2011_ford_edge_ecoboost/index.html
  8. Can you confirm the TSB with this guy? I think he does travel around the metro area based on what my dealer (Dave Sinclair Ford) told me...they have ONE specialist in this area...has to be him. Thanks, Brian
  9. I'll second that - how did you find out - my dealer has no further information for me....computer on backorder, no ETA. Shed some light on this PLEASE!
  10. Make sure this gets documented, and for your own benefit I would suggest leaving the vehicle with the Ford Dealer and asking/demanding a rental... Documentation is paramount as well as charging these folks for your rental. Leaving the vehicle with them will lengthen the time out of service, giving you ground to stand on should you have to fight with Ford. You can say the vehicle was out of service for X amount of days/weeks. If they do not have an answer after week #2 I am going to start the process of asking them for compensation in addition to the demo I have...which is not the vehicle I am paying for. After 4 weeks I will demand that it be bought back. I really don't want to do that, as I really like the vehicle over all, but hell, I feel like this is something that could come back to bite us all in the arse after the warranty has expired!
  11. Welcome! I have owned my 2011 Edge for one month now! It's a great vehicle, but had I know there were issues with MyFord Touch, I would have waited for the 2012...Other than that single issue, I can't say enough good about the Edge! Like they say: Drive one.
  12. I wonder if we shouldn't start a new thread...We may need an update thread for those of us who are post repair, and back...
  13. Thank you so much for the update! I too was told the part is on back order with no ETA. I told them they can keep the vehicle until a permanent solution is found. The dealership offered to pull another computer module from another Edge...I respectfully declined...why would I want to replace a problem with a problem? Tomorrow will be one week. If no solution is found after 30 days I may have to seek legal advice. My dealership put me in a 2011 Fusion which is a nice car, but it's not what I paid for. KEEP US POSTED! Everyone going through this mess, keep us posted!
  14. So what did your attorney advise you? Can you claim lemon even though your vehicle is still drivable?
  15. Hello???????? OnEdge11, do you have any more news to give those of us anxiously awaiting our fix????? The suspense is killing me!!
  16. LOL -- Just before driving my Edge of the lot I thought to myself....(I'm an I.T. guy) Do I really want to deal with Microsoft at work, home AND in the Edge.... looks like I have my answer! Day #6 at the dealer...part on back order, no ETA....
  17. Yes, $500 and $750 depending on which market region you are in. Is MO it's $500....send away for a brochure from The Ford Website. Good luck!
  18. To spare you some further reading you could also try pulling Fuse #29, waiting a few minutes and reseating it OR disconnect the battery waitinf a few minutes and reconnect....it has helped some.
  19. Sorry to hear this...There are a few of us exeriencing the same joy that you are...myself included. See the following thread: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/5765-my-sync-is-dead/ And keep us posted!! Brian
  20. I too am on the main module waiting list (day #6) - my dealer tells me the part is on backorder with NO ETA...so, while I wait, they have me in a demo 2011 Fusion which is actually a really nice car and they are going to let me drive it until I get my Edge back. So can you share any other impressions with us? Is the system any more responsive? White screen after exiting the vehicle cured? Are you completely satisfied now (even without the compensation?). Let us know your thoughts on the new and improved system!!! Thanks, Brian
  21. What hancop said! I've been without mine for 6 days now...my dealership has taken great care of me thus far, but just curious!

  22. I forgot to add that the service department did not look at this issue. In the St. Louis Area they have a technician that specializes in Sync and travels between the dealerships in the area to address Sync only issues...I thought that was interesting. A dedicated Sync tech...would love to talk to this guy.
  23. Some of the things leading up to this Sync failure were: white screen (the screen stayed on after I exited the vehicle and closed the door) - I think it stayed on all night one night and would only go off if I locked the doors. I normally do not lock my vehicles when they are locked in the garage! The backup cam was very choppy or even a delay of approx. 5 seconds when I put the vehicle in reverse, moving through the screens was slowing down over the course of a month, and I believe that is it. Although this part is on back order, I can say that Dave Sinclair Ford in St. Louis, MO has been very kind. They have kept me updated, gave me a 2011 Fusion SEL as a loaner and have been very apologetic. I am very disappointed with the Sync system, but can't say anything is wrong with The Edge itself. It really feels like a well made CUV. Good acceleration, fuel mileage, good looks, great ride, and very comfortable. I would buy another without hesitation, and I am confident that Ford and Microsoft will get this issue resolved. Brian
  24. Well, the waiting game has begun. I dropped off my 2011 Edge at the dealer for a dead sync system on Monday 11/29. Today I got the dreaded update phone call. They have determined that the computer that controls the Sync System has experienced a hardware failure and will have to be replaced. The bad news is the part is on back order with a status of NO ETA. The dealer tells me they will update me as soon as the have an ETA on the part or every other day regardless of the ETA. The dealer has provided me with a demo a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL, for my troubles...I just made the first payment too...kinda stung! Oh well, that's my update...anyone else in the same boat too? Any encouraging words???? I will continue to post updates as I get them. Brian
  25. That's GREAT news! I am headed to the dealer tomorrow. I pulled the #29 Fuse and same thing...battery disconnect/reconnect...same thing....so drop off and rental until it is fixed. I can say that with the radio not working I have really appreciated just how quiet The Ford Edge is...very nice!
