I drove 3 hours last night to TN and reset everything after I filled up just before getting on the interstate. According to the info center: avg mpg: 21.5 avg mph: 77 I'm heavy footed and had the cruise set for 80 - 85 most of the way. This vehicle is too fun to be babied.

It's funny you should mention that...just kidding. I did have a friend of mine (ex-cop) who said "if you know you're caught going over 100, just keep going. It's more fun for you and it's more fun for me and you're going to jail anyway..."

Mine had a bit of hiccup once (actually twice, but I specificallly remember the second one). I was rolling forward barely on the gas as we were about to turn onto the entrance ramp to the interstate and as stepped into it a bit harder, it was like it got confused and didn't kow what to do. RPMs dropped even though I was giving it gas, then finally determined 'oh he wants to go' and fond the gear needed and took off. I'm not sure how many miles I had on it at the time, but it was within the first 2,500 I think. Hasn't done it since.

I can vouch for the 111 mph factory limiter cutoff (without going on the autobahn). Someone on this forum did add a program and was able to get more out of it. I remember him getting alot of flack for street racing or something, I think. It did handle well, but I didn't stay there for long. Depending on the circumstances, the interstate launching pad (entrance ramp) is where you can routinely hit nearly 100 before even merging into the right lane.

Same here. Mine was not installed, just sitting inside, but I looked at the directions for installation (just curious) and it required the drilling of 2 holes into the bumper, so, you may have a couple holes once you remove yours, but then the '08 could be mounted differently. BTW, nice ride

I've noticed that when my Edge is cold (first thing in the morning or when leaving work in the afternoon) the first couple times I apply the brakes, as it comes almost to a stop and apply a bit more pressure to the brakes, there is a grinding sound coming from the front brakes, almost like its a sheared brake pad, but later down the road after it warms up, nothing; smooth stops and no grinding noise. Anybody else experienced this? I haven't tried painting the calipers yet...

Here's another alternative: Are you a member of a credit union? There are 3 in Pleasanton (1st United Services; SafeAmerica CU; and Sterlent CU) that you are probably eligible to join if you are not already a member. The added benefit is they generally have an auto buying service that most like gets the X plan pricing. You tell the CU contact what you are looking for specifically, they search all the dealer inventories to find the exact match or something close. If you have to order it to get exactly what you want, they can handle that too. The best thing is, you don't even have to haggle with the dealership salesman. Plus, you can finance it with the CU and generally get a better rate than the dealer or a bank. I work for a CU and used our auto buying service to find my Edge. They check dealer inventories in Ga and Fla. I started out looking for an SE, but ended up with and SEL+ at a local dealer. There were several reasons for going to the SEL+, but mostly becasue the SEs and SELs didn't have the options I was looking for. I never stepped foot on a dealers lot except for earlier that week to test drive one and determined I had to have one! The dealer that had teh one I wanted brought the Edge to me to check it out. I liked, they took it back, detailed it out and brought it back to me. I don't think they did that just because I work for the CU as I believe they treat all members that way. It could be different in your area, Cali usually is...
