  1. I have an '07 SEL+ with that package and group; checked out the '08 features (listed below) and I have the same items listed: Convenience Group: Automatic headlamps, auto-dimming rearview mirror, illuminated door entry keypad, steering wheel mounted audio controls Premium Package: Dual-Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Controls, leather-trimmed seating surfaces, heated front seats with driver-side memory feature, power heated exterior mirrors with memory features, particulate air filter, and security approach lamps
  2. That's by design... from owner's manual: 14. EXT: Press to display outside temperature. Press again to display cabin temperature settings. Note: Exterior readings are more accurate when the vehicle is moving.

  4. You could always use one of the two trip odometers if you have a difficult time with math or remembering the mileage at your last change...
  5. I think the biggest change is the rear liftgate hole added to the '08. I've seen a few, and that's the only way I can tell an '08 from an '07.
  6. I could give you some assumptions, like you'll probably get better gas mileage with the RAV4 and the Escape and they are slightly smaller (I think), but your best bet is go to a site like Vehix.com where you can compare various makes and models and see the stats side by side. I was a regular on that site and others to confirm my decision to go with the Edge. It was very helpful in comparing areas like head/leg room, cargo capacity, etc. That really helps narrow it down and may eliminate some models based on what you're looking for. And yes, I would recommend the Edge over those on your list.
  7. Geeez, lighten up. The profane name calling is not necessary. And if that's all it takes to piss you off, you've got issues. If someone is in "spitting distance in front of you," your TOO CLOSE and probably why they didn't signal. For the record, I am courteous enough to let anyone behind me know if I'm about to turn. I apoplogize if my comment gave you the wrong impression. Don't take things so literal. You're assuming way too much. My commute to work is less than 20 minutes; 3 right turns from the house within 2 miles and it's a straight shot to work, so yeah, I rarely have to use a signal. I guess we're not all as fortunate as you to have owned/driven so many cars however powerful they are and with all the miles behind you. I feel so inferior with my lowly 6 cars owned in the last 18 years with 400,000+ miles.
  8. Anybody else find themselves in their Edge being challenged by other drivers? I've had a few incidents lately with some surprising opposition. One was a Nissan Titan pickup (what was he thinking) and I barely glanced at the guy and it was ON; the road was slightly damp and hey, the Edge's traction control, it works. The Titan, no traction so needless to say he couldn't catch me. Might a been a different story on dry pavement. Another was an Expedition of all things...I wasn't even paying him any attention. Just took off like I normally do and I could hear that thing revving up and got beside me and I just laid into the gas and watched his passenger grin from my side view mirror. A co-worker and I were hauling a bunch a folks to lunch, we had 4 each in my Edge and his Caddy (it's a 4 door with a V8, but not sure which one, but not the BIG one, an older CTS maybe). We were side by side at the light and he and I launched at the green. Dry pavement, I slipped a little and traction control kicked in again and I was right there with him about a half a carlink behind. I'm having a great time driving this thing! And surprising others as well!!!
  9. if you quickly press the end of the stick, it will do a single wipe without wiper fluid. It's in the manual too...
  10. Just double sided foam tape. It was back in the summer and had been sitting in the sun so I gently twisted and worked them up with my thumbnail and cleaned off the residue. Simple as that.
  11. I removed my EDGE SEL emblems; makes waxing a whole lot easier!
  12. Thanks. That site looks familiar so that may be where I got it as well. It does now say 3rd printing, and it's obvious it is a bit different than the one I have. Thanks again.
  13. What if you backed in the garage???
  14. FWIW, my OM references have been from a PDF version that I think I got when I signed up for the MyFord log in, or I picked it up from one of the links from this forum, can't remember exactly. I haven't compared it to the hardcopy. Maybe I should check that out?
  15. Check my signature...but, yes, it is from the 07 OM: Here is the footer of each page: 2007 Edge (edg) Owners Guide (post-2002-fmt) USA (fus)
  16. Copy/Paste from the OM index: Engine oil ..................................271 change oil soon warning, message center .......................271 checking and adding ..............271 dipstick ....................................271 I'm not arguing either way with any of you, just trying to help out the original poster and these were my findings based on the subsequent postings. And I agree, if it were a major concern for me, I would be inquiring further with the dealer at this point. And I don't take you as a wise guy at all; I haven't seen any of them here lately, but wish they would come back. They crack me up! That's what drew me to this forum and it's been getting a bit boring lately.
  17. How about back to topic and the fact that the answer is clearly not in the manual???
  18. Well, do tell, what is the phrase you're putting on your Edge???
  19. I just looked in my manual and there is a reference to it in the index refering to page 271, however, there is nothing on page 271 about the "change engine oil soon, message center". It tells you how to check it and add it, but nothing about the message center. Plus, if you go to the system warnings related to the message center, there is no mention of an oil change reminder. So, I have checked the manual and the answer is not there!
  20. don't use them...or maybe turn the radio up... I rarely use them so I really couldn't tell you how loud they are. If I do use them, it's only for a couple of clicks. If you really need to know what I'm about to do, I will let you know, but most times, you don't need to know...plus, what's the point of sitting in a turn lane with a turn signal on...as if you need a reminder you're supposed to go that way???
  21. If you want easier, you pay someone else to do it; that's what I did. Not because I can't (I put one on a '97 Explorer) but because I didn't want to fool with it.
  22. When I was looking around for my install, I contacted the dealer first and they stated they would have to manually wire it in as they did not yet have a kit (that was 7 months ago). The aftermarket installer I ended up going with installed the hitch and about 4 weeks later, draw tite came out with this kit. There may be something out there now, so good luck in your search.
  23. Haven't looked for it on the Edge, but on my 97 Explorer, the code was on a sticker on a module behind the driver side rear cargo panel. There was a removable panel to get to the jack and it was barely visible once that panel was removed. Let us know if you find somewhere in the vehicle.
