  1. LOL...just what I was going to ask :yup: Ford parts should have them.
  2. I noticed my 2011 does have the overhead grab handle on the passenger front side -but no A pillar grab handles. I noticed on my 2005 F150 Screw, I had the A pillar grab handles on BOTH sides...then my 2009 Figo Screw only had the A pillar grab handle on the passenger side. Not and issue for me as I easily slide right into the driver's seat though. Perfect height for entry/exit as with my sedan I have to lower myself in the car and with my 4x4 I had to raise myself up...with the Edge it's simply sliding in...one of the things I like so much about the Crossover concept.
  3. Fellow Edge owners....things I'm doing to the interior. 1) I have the Escort 9500xi radar detector with the Blendmount and Invisicord that I will be mounting in my 11 Edge. I had this mounted in my 2009 F150 and the wiring simply plugs into the back of the mirror connector. Would anyone have the correct two wires for the Edge mirror connector? On the Platinum it was the Invisicord RED wire connector to the mirror connector BLUE/RED stripe wire. For the Invisicord GREEN wire it was the BLACK/PURPLE wire on the mirror connector. You simply push the Invisicord wires into the rear of the mirror connector for a trouble free connection that turns on/off with the key. The blendmount is a low profile black anodized alum mounting system that hangs the radar detector off the mirror stalk so it is right beneath the mirror. Very stealth mounting location and much better than the windshield suction cup mount. The mount is fully adjustable to fit a range of detectors and the entire dector can be removed in seconds (dealer service, etc.) 2) I added B&I interior trim pieces to the door window switch areas (where the cheap black plastic parts are) to dress up the black interior just a bit. Although I purchased the full kit, I've only used the window switch surround pieces as I really don't like the look when too much is applied. B&I were the only ones that made this for the 2011 Edge and it is not an "exact" match. The wood grain and color are right - but the factory dash wood trim is more of a satin finish where the B&I is gloss finish. They asked me to comment on the match as I was the 1st one to order it and I will do so. Also, they didn't have the correct center console trim piece - looked like it would fit the non-Sony sound system 2011 - but not my Limited. This is not an issue for me as I like the black finish and won't be covering it. 3) I'm going to be checking out the 2011 MKX and see if there are any interior parts I might want to purchase to upgrade the looks of the Edge. While the MKS is very differnet as far as dash/door panels - some things might be nice to check out - like how they did the rear seat inboard mount bolt covers...Ford just used a rubber cap on the bolt and left the black mount showing (looks tacky). The MKX might have a cover over this area....anyway I'll try and post pics of my mods. Love to hear from the rest of you as to what you are doing with your Edge
  4. Nice write up Dreams....everyone should practice removing thier headrest then put the removal tool (allen wrench or whatever) in the glovebox or under the rear cargo floor...there's GREAT storage under there!!!
  5. Yep...that ugly front license plate bracket was the 1st thing to come off when I got the new 2011 Edge home. I drilled out the rivets and found the perfect sized plastic push-pin type fasteners in the "Help" section of my local Kragen Auto Parts store. They are interior fasteners for GM's and the heads are round/mostly flat and just larger than the holes left by the rivets. They are gloss black and not very noticable - I may paint them silver some day but they really don't look bad as is.
  6. So far it seems to be only an interface to facilitate wireless access for those in your car. Confusing though as I can't see how that is any help when most folks have a wireless card that already connects directly to the internet. It's not like it's an actual hot spot (I think)? I'm going to try it with my work laptop (like I do in connecting to airport wireless systems throughout the country when traveling - if it gets me to the internet then it would truly be a hot spot....
  7. I'm sure the air conditioned seats will be avail soon on the Edge...my 2009 F150 Platinum had them and I do miss them here in SoCal. Leather can get hot - even with the AC roaring! I've had a different experience with my remote start feature. I lock the Edge x2 then hit remote start x 2 and it starts right up. I'm having issues with the Nav/MyTouch feature, for some reason the system wont recognize the Ford factory SD card so it appears it doesn't even have Nav (I had to bring in the Window Sticker so my dealer would believe it had come with the factory Nav system). So far it's only been the Synch voice (and very limited graphics) which are very dismal compared to the DVD based Nav system on my '09 Platinum. We tried a new SD Card out of another 2011 Edge on the dealer's lot and it didn't recognize that card either...almost acts as if the Nav feature isn't activated or something? My LFD is not really equipped to deal with this new MyTouch system yet....
  8. I have new 2011 Edge Limited and it is great!! Traded my '09 F150 Screw 4x4 Platinum for it and it rides better, gets better mileage, is more comfy too! Wish it would have come with the air conditioned seats and rain sensing wipers like the Platinum had but no regrets. Ford seems to have the engine/transmission management software pretty well sorted out for the 2011 Edge as the 6 speed tranny seems to downshift properly (no hesitation, etc.) like the F150 had. Still having issues with the MyTouch though...I bought the full Nav system and it wont work...refuses to recognize the Ford SD Card..even though it recognized the SD Card from my Camera and allowed me to upload 3 pictures.. Great package though - once I get the MyTouch sorted out...honestly though the DVD based Sony/Nav system in my '09 Platinum was a much better/user friendly/reliable system. Congrats on your new Edge too!!
