  1. Well, I've got a Blue one and love it. I am starting to notice the odd glitch with the MyFordTouch system but nothing too problematic. Congrats on your new vehicle and good luck!
  2. All fixed through the touchscreen. The settings were in the OFF mode, however, this must have done its own somehow. I'm finding this is happening a lot with the touchscreen and the voice commands...
  3. I never touched the settings, but will have a look and see if it can be fixed. Thanks for responding.
  4. My screen stopped displaying the colours (green, yellow, red) of the distance the Edge has left in reverse before it hits something. It also stopped showing the stripes to back the car between two parking stripes. The audible beeps still function though. Any ideas how to resolve this without taking it to the dealer?
  5. I hope a minimum of 7-10yrs. That way I can use the MYKEY technology on my kids when they want to "borrow" the car!
  6. Congrats to you on finally getting your Edge. I've got 1200kms now and it still has that "new car smell".
  7. Great post. I shocked my kid recently by telling him I had to handwrite all essays and type them on a typewriter to get them graded in highschool and college. No computers for quick editing and spell checking. One of his friends also asked me last week what an encyclopedia is! Can you imagine having to research without the aid of a computer. If they only knew...
  8. I wasn't aware it came on any Canadian Edge, but the Flex and MKS have it as an option. Congrats also to jaymac8888 on your new car. Kona Blue is a beautiful colour! It's going to look great in the sunshine.
  9. That is a very cool option ! I'm going to try it. Thanks for the tip.
  10. In my area, it's about 50/50 that I've seen driving Edges. I think men like the Sport rims and women would prefer the non-sport rims on the new cars (opinion in our house anyway). Once both men and women drive them though, who cares what people think. They are going to love them.
  11. Congrats to you on your perseverance and victory. I wish we had those Lemon Laws in Canada. Best of luck with your new vehicle.
  12. Congrats on your purchase. I also have those options. The mats are okay but I've replaced them to hold more snow in them as they are pretty shallow. My Sport came with the illuminated floor plate Logo on the bottom of the front doors which isn't really necessary. I've read on this forum about people wanting to add HID lamps but I find the headlights adequate and bright enough to begin with. If your driver's entry package has the remote start feature you will love that. It's great to start the vehicle early on a cold/hot day. Good luck!
  13. Well, after 2 weeks of ownership, it finally happened to me about three times in total now. I had a chuckle as I'd already read this topic link. The first time I accidentally hit the flashers, I couldn't get them to stop and had to pull over just to keep pushing the button. I guess in the panic I pushed too many times and they didn't turn off for what seemed like minutes but was probably only 30 secs. The second time my techy pre-teen hit the flashers tending to the Touch screen and I was entering a highway on ramp at the time! Luckily I helped him get them off before merging onto the road. I can see this happening in the future again!
  14. Congrats on your new Edge. Shocking fire pics, but glad to hear everyone was safe. Was there a known issue with the Saab to have it ignite like that or just a one-off incident?
  15. I believe the interior is called Charcoal. It's fine for winter but I'm sure it will be hotter than hot to sit on during the summer months. I will miss not having a cooled front seat feature like my other vehicle has. We had snow overnight and extremely cold temps. The car did slide a bit on some snow covered back roads in the ruts and the ABS kicked in at a stop sign, but nothing too unmanageable though.
  16. Congrats and welcome. I too just joined recently and had considered a gently used Edge myself but ended up opting for new. I also hope this site will be helpful for any info and to share info I've learned also.
  17. Congrats on your new purchase! Pros after 1 week of ownership are; No major problems to report--not even with MyFordTouch, Great drive, great handling, great Sirius radio Cons; Wife will miss car-like ride (she feels it's a bumpier ride now with the 22's) , 5 years of payments ahead of me Mods- Haven't considered yet.
  18. Congratulations. I've had mine for just a week, but LOVE it. I'm sure you will too.The colour is great!

  22. Hancop I'm in the GTA near Burlington. The fellow I go to runs a Rust Check franchise and he's very good. He can drill (best) or not drill the undercoat depending on your needs. -Kona
  23. Congrats. I also haven't driven mine much as it has also snowed for me. I plan to get it undercoated. Didn't trust the dealer's $700 Cdn plug in rust repellent system. I've got several cars that have been undercoated with no rust to date and one is 20 years old! Enjoy your ride.
  24. Congrats. I love the colour too and also just happened to get lucky spotting it at a local dealer with all of the options I wanted. Canadian incentives and Costco rebateweren't bad either. I plan on getting snow tires to extend the life of the 22" rims. Good for Ford having a positive sales year.
