Integrated Blind Spot Mirrors
tpm419419 replied to bri719's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Ok The simple question remains... Does the 2009 mirror fit the 2007-8 Edge? I took a peek at an '09 and do like the new mirror. I am willing to pay almost 200.00 for the pair but need to know it is going to fit first. Due to a neck injury my head doesn't swivel so easily and a built in convex mirror would be a tremendous help. I do have stick on convex mirrors on my 2007 Edge but it is not as good as an integrated one. Thanks -
Integrated Blind Spot Mirrors

This is without installation? Removing the mirror glass can be done providing you know how. You will see the connector for the heating element behind it which would than go onto the new glass. I would try getting a price from a body shop first. -
I stand corrected!

SIDE MIRRORS QUESTION
tpm419419 replied to Poorboy's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Just read an article on the 2009 Edge mirrors. Very interesting and can't wait to trade in 2010 2009 side mirrors -
Wipers on with headlights?
tpm419419 replied to Williston's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Headlights due in fact come on with the wipers on, even if only in intermittent mode. As far as I know DRL's do not satisfy the law because they are at reduced power or brightness. You also want your tail lights to be lit (at least I do) -

At the least a loaner car should be made available to you. Insist on it -
Us customer - I don't understand lease deals?
tpm419419 replied to globalmind's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I have been leasing many years (Mainly Ford products) and I have NEVER had to pay for a scratch or ding on any of my vehicles when I returned them. On occasion the dealer would "suggest" that if there happened to be any chips in the windshield to have it taken care of as it would be covered under the insurance. -
Remote Start - Please Help!
tpm419419 replied to jmitchell's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
Joe I had the remote start put in using my existing key fobs. Found out the range was not all that good so the dealer replaced it with 2 additional key fobs just for the remote. At first the antenna was hidden under the head liner but the range was restricted. In the end the remote starter antenna is now on the windshield just below the headliner in plain site. I found a noticeable difference in reception range. -
I think some of these options are intensionally left off to be added in later years. I found this to be true with Ford products I've owned in the past

Now that's an installation! Very nice job indeed. How did you go about installing the LEDS on either side of the rear lic. plate? I have a 3 year lease so I don't want to get crazy. I see you are from NY, I'm on the Island myself. Thanks for the pictures and the video was great

Hello Anyone get creative and install strobes, dash lights, etc on their Edge? I have a single dash mounted blue LED strobe that is held on to the windshield by suction cups. Thinking about putting some strobes in my tail lights. Pictures would be nice if you have them. Thanks

Best of luck with it. Looks awesome! I have an '07 SEL Plus (Pewter) Didn't get the Vista or Nav but has pretty much everything else. I'm disappointed I didn't wait for the '08 with power liftgate.

Blind Spot
tpm419419 replied to killermaze's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I'm trying to find a "convex" mirror OEM replacement for the drivers side mirror. A company called MultiVex has something similar but you need to go through Paypal. I'm not comfortable doing that. I once found a drivers side mirror with a built in convex mirror to one side of it with a intergrated turn signal that worked by wireless tech. back to the rear turn signals. Anyone have any luck finding a suitable mirror? Ps. I had neck surgery and it would definitely help -
My edge has the same issue and has been to the dealer 3 times for it. In the left lane with a noticeable crown in the road, my Edge will drift to the right over the crown.

bbf when you say the answer is there (in the manual) It sounds to me that you DO know the answer. But enough is enough. I guess we just can't agree. I concede. 2008 SEL

you can tell someone their shoe is untied but WHY?? they will eventually trip over it and find out for themselves. I guess it comes down to courtesy
-
Could you just give us the answer or do we have to dig out the manual  I have 4400 miles and have had no indication BUT I did have the oil changed at 2800

2007 Ford Edge: Technical Service Bulletins (TSB)
tpm419419 replied to Edge Guide's topic in Recalls, TSBs & Warranty
Concerning the "Pulling". I have been back to the dealer 3 times and as others have said, tire pressure was off, etc, etc. NOT! My Edge will pull to the right even if I'm on the left side of the crest in the road. I find if you accelerate it responds or pulls even more. I had just picked up my vehicle from having the transaxle seal replaced so I took the service manager for a ride and of course it didn't do it  I called the next day and told them when I come in for the oil change I'll take him out on the highway, I don't care if I have to travel with him 50 miles but I will prove it to him. Otherwise I'm happy with it -
I have a leak on my AWD also. waiting to drop it off this week when a loaner comes in.

druck, thanks for the info. Are you saying I should stress to the service dep't. that I know about the TSB or should I just mention it is pulling. Last time at the shop I had them check it and they told me the tire pressure in the f/r tire was low. That was the second time I mentioned it pulling. Thank you again for the information
-
It is AWD. Thanks and I hope I won't have any more problems. It pulls somewhat to the right also, hoping that will correct it. Dealer will give me a loaner car in 2 weeks so I can't complain. Have a great New year
