  1. Please keep us posted. Hopefully you have insurance to cover everything including a rental car
  2. Sounds like they took advantage. Only my drivers door was problematic. As I said earlier they replaced the rod assembly and has been fine ever since
  3. Only a "2 way remote" will tell you if the vehicle is started. Changing the remote fob won't help any. As you can imagine a 2 way remote will be more expensive. I cannot help you change the running time but I would like to know myself. Good luck
  4. Hello again I went back out to the car and although it is cold I was determined to get this wiper replaced. I did read the instructions given by Trico. At first I was getting nowhere doing it their way and finally gave up. I put the wiper back in the car and closed the rear hatch. I just had to try one more time and although I can't tell you exactly how I did it but I did manage to get the wiper blade off. It came off quite easily I may add. Follow the instructions and the wiper will pretty much pop out of the arm. I had the fingers of my left hand between the arm and the blade near the center where the arm snaps in, my right hand was squeezing the blade between the right side of blade and the arm. I then squeezed and pulled the blade with my right hand out toward the rear right right tail light. When you try to pull it out it pulls on an angle not straight toward back of car. I hope someone can make sense of this. My total time trying to change the rear blade was no more than 5-7 minutes.
  5. I picked up the Trico wipers yesterday. Still having a hard time getting the rear wiper off. Is it possible to give detailed instructions on how about to replace it. Thanks so much
  6. Let's not forget the speaker also in the dash
  7. http://media.ford.com/images/10031/Push_Button_MKX.pdf Although rear camera not mentioned
  8. I was told it was defective bulbs when I had mine changed. Also had 4 new wheels replaced at the same time so I didn't let it bother me. (its a lease and I am likely to return it in October)
  9. No doubt it IS cheaper to buy a vehicle if in fact you wish to keep it 5 yrs or more. Since 1973 I have never owned a vehicle for more than 4 years. I have had many new vehicles and before leasing I always took a big hit whether I sold my car privately or traded it in. I've owned a 1974 Camaro, 75 Caprice, 76 MG Midget, 78 Dodge, Etc, etc Leasing is definitely for me
  10. I have been leasing my vehicles for over 15 years now. I always get tired of them after 3 years and when I did purchase them I always wound up taking a" lose" (?). A lease will put you in a more expensive vehicle for less money down and if you shop smartly less cost per month. In addition you have full warranty coverage while you have it. Back in 2004 I actually purchase a Merc Sable because there were no good leasing deals and the sable had a very good purchase deal. 36 months later I traded it in for a lease, my 07 Edge to answer your question I lease most of my vehicles for 36 or 39 months
  11. Can anyone confirm if it does or does not have a rear view camera?? I am liking it, hope I can afford it. My 07 goes back in October
  12. Unless you are over on your mileage why should you be paying anything?
  13. My 07 Edge lease is up in October. My next Edge will have that system "I like the new page layout "
  14. If you have the cash it is much better then paying it out over 5,6 or 7 years. I am betting you are paying 0% if not very little interest right?
  15. Had my set of 4 clad wheels replaced from Ford as well with 15,000 miles on it (a 2007)
  16. My guess is that we will see it in the 2011 model (At least I'm hoping we do)
  17. IF it is a PTU seal it will only be in the shop a few hours. They got quite good and fast at replacing these things
  18. I have dual auto climate control and my basic remote starter works well with it. If I have it set for 70 degrees the car will start with the climate control on 70. And that is with using the factory key fobs
  19. That is pretty much standard. Some remote starters have an operational relay or something that can add such items. My remote starter is like yours, cannot program seats or heated mirrors / rear window
  20. Ford has addressed in a letter that there is a Heater core problem in the Edge. They have extended the warranty to 6 yrs 100,000 miles I believe
  21. Now that is what I call a present!!! Good luck with it
